when you watch a film and you interpret the scenes as you watch it. and then you get to know what the director was thinking while filming the shots and the details they put into it and it builds up onto your own interpretation. can't explain the feeling but it definitely feels satisfying.

Please don't keep that promise- we need more 1987 content!! I'm literally in love with the characters, watched the whole thing at least 10 times and I only found it yesterday 😂

For a young person your direction of this movie is so good. You even built things to help with the movie. Bravo.

i think your commentary and explanation of certain symbolism is really inspiring! like the blue and friday’s mean 1950s moms. my personal favorite scene was the one with debbie in the bathroom with the rude homophobes and the certain camera angles in like their own makeup mirrors, in the regular one, and the wide panning to friday from the stall (i’m not sure if thats what you did is called but the camera moved to her stall). it was really stylistically driven and I liked that, and my favorite scene for visuals would be the one with friday looking through the phone book and scrambling all the stuff off the table or sad debbie at the party with the lights. or the one at the train station, just because something about it tehe.

literally from the first two seconds of this video u had me like I was like this girlie's got a *vision* & she UNDERSTOOD the assignment- the way you draw out the scene & create like this awkward humorous tension, exposing your humanness in just setting up the camera and taking a second to adjust (also w/ how u ended the video tooo)- idk why that stuck w/ me but then I reeeealized that that's also a really present quality in 1987 like that's what made the fish & chips scene so funny and real and ur brilliant and I love the campy vibes of it all!! like did i mention the *VISION*- i just feel that u understand something that goes deep that most directors don't (& if we're being honest, most people) and that's really special. i felt seen in your work (in debbie and friday & in u in this video & the *audience*), so thank you for that- u the shit & the moment (even tho I'm like 2 years-post but whatever)💅💅

i adored your film and now i adore you, too (in a absolutely non weird way). and i found it funny the "throuple mums" comment because i really loved this scene and it touched me deep because my closest family is mostly women, so i think i kind of embodied my mom, aunt and cousin in them!
