I've already watched the Ronald Finger Fiero Series. I like certain aspects of each of the two body styles of the Fiero. We didn't have them here in the UK other than as an import but I saw one as a kid and never forgotten it. They seem to get a lot of bad press but maybe they are not muscular enough (especial the iron Duke engine) fir the US buyers and perhaps not as dynamic a drive as a Fiat X1/9 or MR2 for us Europeans. No mistake these are very 80s and I love it.

Great to see another one back on the road. I've always loved the Fiero ever since a holiday to the US with my parents in 1987, where as a 19-year-old lad , i saw a white GT cruising the strip, with pontiac lit up in red... I fell in love with the shape and style of the GT Fiero. She sure sounds sweet ! well done!

Thanks for documenting your restoration as it is a great source of information! I look forward to watching the rest of the series. Great work too!

I was in an accident in my 85 SE Fiero too. I was rear ended while at a stop sign at 55 mph. My fiance and myself were fine. The Fiero had barely any damage and I was able to drive it home. The 97 Cavalier that hit me was totalled! I now have a 86 GT fastback and she is my baby!

Still a great looking and great sounding car. When I was in high school the spoiled rich girl that lived down the road had a 2 year old ‘85 GT 4 spd. She drove the hell out of it and it made such a great noise for a 1980’s American car.

I'm impressed on several points: your find and putting the deal together, finding a "toater" to move it for you, putting a LOT of TLC into the project and bringing it back to life! I live in Whiteville, NC and have been looking for a Fiero for a few months. I've actually looked at 2 or 3 trying to put a deal together and either they're too rough and the seller is not living on this planet. Let me know if you run across one that's " a deal" and I don't care what color and would prefer automatic. Thanks, Jack in Whiteville.

Handy, as Im usually doing a few hours at a time stretched out over many weeks. "Pump the brakes!" is a favourite that I put on before doing a brake pad change. Too bad yes, but no too. It is nearly impossible to find a nice project Fiero worth fixing up with the manual transmission. And few I have found were so far gone. I have an 86GT with a SC3800 conversion and a four speed manual. I absolutely LOVE the four speed, but truth be told, I was actually looking for an automatic as a daily driver recently because the four speed in heavy stop and go traffic really bites... "Clutch in and Clutch out" and creeping along at about ten to fifteen miles per hours for up to an hour for a 15 mile commute is no fun.
@ajberdan
@ajberdan 4 жыл бұрын
@@indigoridge I guess where you live has a lot to do with it? I had a Ford Ranger 4x4 years ago with a stiff as hell clutch. In traffic you'd get a sore left leg. I learned to drive that truck almost without using it. Not sure this would work for an 86GT?? However? Maybe?? I am saying that first comment assuming not many are gonna use Fieros as daily drivers. I am putting $ aside to purchase one. I may have to buy an automatic? Rest assured mine won't stay that way. Enjoy your GT I have driver an Oldsmobile with the 3800 in the past. Great power.
