MANY of these carbs have the rubber seat. Sometimes these seats drop down a bit making the valve to close very early. Leaves very little gas in the bowl. When engine is working hard, you may actually run out of gas in the bowl. 2 seconds later. The engine will start again. Drives you crazy to find ghd problrm

Glad you were able to fix that brake vacuum pump booster assist. Its dangerous when they lose vacuum pressure. The electronic brake control module will not assist the vehicle to sense that there is no assist needed while braking. A hard brake peddle will be felt and you will pump the brake and you will not be able to slow or even stop the vehicle. So sad when not one dealership will care about the circumstances. Does not matter if vehicle was looked at early in a tsb either at the dealership. The dealership cannot even assure you that vehicle will have no affected problems in the future too. So sad that folks have crash their vehicles without any brake assist on this engineering design. So sorry about your loss of grattitude when the dealership said they would not fix other items during the warranty period. Even though the customer pays for it. Any safety recall should be verified completed by the dealership always. 😢

Buddy had a 6.2 lifter failure. They literally replaced the lifters ...but not 100 k later same issue but they had not changed the cam and the old lifter had wiped the cam lobe out . Literally didn't even make it home . Another chevrolet dealership did the valves and the cam and actually called out the other dealership on the crappy work

My bracket to attach to roll bar is "sprung" the other way. I had to have someone stand in the back of the jeep and hold the whole top up high to get the brackets oriented properly to then bolt them to the roll bar.

It should start if you pump it a couple times, advance the throttle (!) and let er rip. Got trained at the dealer in 1993 when we picked one of these up.

What is that fuel stabilizer supposed to taste like? The one I have is a bit tangy, does that mean it has gone bad?

Could you tell me what wires are connected to the coil and what are the two wires from the distributor mine are black and green. Someone masquerading as a boat technician replaced the wires in mine and screwed it up. I would also add that they tried to make every wire red to save money.

I bought a 93 ZJ limited 5.2 V8 2 months ago, fixing some issues, except for the wheels it’s completely stock, looking for OEM rims now. It runs great, I just need to solve some minor issues.

Bayliner has always suggested pumping the throttle as part of the sparting proceedure. My 2000 Capri 3.0 only needs 2-3 pumps and it starts right up.

I bought a new 2004 175 at age 18, we used the crap out of that boat and loved it, I sold it when I got married at 24 because I needed the money, the guy I sold it to just sold it this summer at 20yrs old and got $18k for it, I paid less than that for the boat new😂

I'm only 1/4 the way into the video and I'd like to say something. The passion you showed in seeing a bike, almost out of site, not for sale, appreciating the price and pushing it home, shows what so many people never show when finding a particular bike. The passion for a certain bike can be so strong and you've already captured and replayed it for us all to enjoy. Thanks. KK

Thanks for including a detailed look at the tacho board. I was able to repair mine today by swapping out the resistor (30ohm, 1/4 watt) and the diode next to it. I believe that these parts fail when the bike's electrical system gets over-volted. This can happen when your regulator/rectifier overheats and fails to regulate voltage.

PRO TIPS: 1. TAKE PICTURES of everything before (and during) your disassembly - especially if this is your first time doing this kind of work. Pictures even help us more 'seasoned' vets that have done these jobs before. Trust me when I say... your memory WILL fail you at some point in life! 2. ALWAYS use a new gasket and/or seal. ALWAYS! Far cheaper than re-working a job all because you chimped-out on a cheap gasket. Just... don't. And if you live in the middle of nowhere like I do - you can't just run to the local boat shop and pick up another gasket because you damaged it during the job. Suddenly that gasket set looks a lot better doesn't it? Note: (Price for a Quicksilver gasket kit is $16 A-zon; part # 94996Q2). You have no excuse! 3. Don't over-tighten anything. Watch your torques and STOP if your bolt or screw binds up. It's aluminum after all so you don't need "5 white knuckles" when tightening things. Be gentle. Breaking anything on these drives generally means: BEND OVER, grab your ankles and hope you have Vaseline in the medicine cabinet! I've done machining for over 30 years and busted off bolts is probably the top 5 worst job I've had to do. And believe me - YOU the customer, generally pays dearly to remove a busted off bolt. Thanks for the video. I've done my share of these jobs before but I'm always looking for ideas and better ways.

Your video is AMAZINGLY helpful!! We have to watch every year to make sure we’ve done it correctly. We didn’t take the hard top off last year and this year we found that one of the bolts had broken off of the brackets (Had NO CLUE) We also have 4 extra bolts that we have no idea where they go. They are in the roof section of the tailgate. 🤷‍♀️. Any idea???
