It may seem unusual but I always considered flash part of the building experience! Kinda relaxing to spend some time removing flash. And if you've been building model kits since te 70s flash is only just a familiar friend! That's just me. I know I probably don't speak for the majority of modelers.

Never built a NASCAR racer before but every time I see one of these Salvino's kits and how nicely they are done, I'm inspired to build one. Don't recall whether I've seen one of the old Fords before, but I'm glad it's available.

That’s a beautiful build Chris. I’ve got a Davey Allison kit I built and never finished because the decals crumbled up as soon as I put them in water. The gold crumbled up into tiny pieces. Never did finish it. Those are a whole lot better decals in that kit. Keep up the great work. Bruce in Wv!!!

I’ve build several nascars of that era. A few things I did different was the shift knob is supposed to by white. All the exhaust was white . And usually I painted the block blue as ford blocks were.

The way this one snaps on to the chassis will aline and straighten warping especially with how the nose fastens.

Maybe it’s just me, but I really love that there’s no chrome on some of the parts of this Kit. I have built Monogram NASCAR kits and between the GM and Fords, I found the Thunderbirds far easier to build due to the way their cages were engineered.

Sure wish we could've had such good decals back in the 90's! I built the 1995 Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo at that time, and for some reason the hood decals were garbage and all ripped appart coming off the sheet. First time that happened to me and every other decal went fine. Contacted Revell/Monogram, and they sent me new decals, however they were the updated 1996 livery decals. They were like if they were translucent; the blue squared GM logo on the hood cpmpletely disappeared once applied on the black body, with only the white GM letters remaining. I was really pissed, (and still am to this day since I still have the model) because it was the best showcase of my talents at the time, my nicest model then. But that hood decal just always ruined it for me! Hats off to modern model and decal makers!!!!

Hi Chris or other viewers, I am starting a father & son model building project over the winter. We wish to build a Nascar kit, any driver, any year. What may be the preferred/recommended Salvino kit (style) for a newer builder? cheers.
@hpiguyАй бұрын
One of their 1/24 classic 80s-90s stock cars like this will be your best bet to start. Easy to assemble and stress free building. Their 1/25 scale 70s cars are also great. I'd steer away from the modern stock cars they offer until you have a bit more experience but they are phenomenal kits once you're ready for them.
