I rode and had a bunch of them , i wish you guys would do more with the husky old school 4 strokes that would blow them off track , wxc 610 , 350 or 510 would leave any XR in the dust , back then.

Think this is 85' ? Shes a beauty Ken. I had a red,white and blue 87' in 89'. Tank was white and metal. Kick start only with compression release to get it top dead center. Bike was a monster 😊

If your tank was metal, you has a XL600, all XR's went full on plastic tanks after 1981..

Now that's my kind of bike. Needs a supertrapp or Baja megaphone on that exhaust. Also the drum rear needs to go. Change out to a disc brake. That's a fun competitive bike for any one that can ride good enough. Or just take it to the woods and ride with friends you can't find a better bike that will last for years. I had a 89 the last year with the rear drum brake. Love them and always will. If I could swing it I would buy a new to me one. Maybe that very one. She looks sweet

I forget, can the XR 650s be registered in Connecticut as is? I see the headlight and the tail light but no signals. I don't think in Connecticut we have to have signals, do we? Also a horn. I know for a fact that I had a 1985 or some year XR 200 (I'm old and memory is shot) and I was able to register it. That I know for a fact.
