I put 80K miles on my '86 Concours, exactly the same as the one in this video. Cross country 4 times, also to Alaska and Mexico. I never had a single breakdown. Sure do miss it but it was a treat hearing that unique growl again. Thanks for taking me along.

My dad passed away and left me his zg1000, 2000, I’m working on restoring, it passed gas to the engine, I just haven’t had the money, I want to get it running as a tribute to my dad, ride as much as I can, I like it more now than when he got it. Great work on this one, mine is the same color. 👍🏼

Kawasaki had a 20yr run building this bike. 1986 to 2006 without any major changes. In 2007 the concours wasn't available. In 2008 the 1400 concours was introduced. They are great bikes and still have parts available. I really enjoy my '06 although not the coolest looking bike, it's all built with purpose in mind.

Sounds exactly the same as my '86 Ninja 1000R. Your to-do list is exactly like mine was, and I've been driving it all summer, lovin' it. Nice job, and the labour and money it costs to bring this bike up to snuff like this mean it's indeed good for another 3 or so decades of eatin' miles. Nice job.

I had one just like this! Best bike I ever had, boy I miss it! I LOVE the sound. I would go cross country with a bunch of wing dings, my tag read “morfun” and it was! Thanks, what did it sell for?

For anyone in there 30s this paired with the ninja was iconic. You read the specs you saw it in nintendo games.

The styling of that could pass for late 90's especially if the bags matched better. Nice bike.

Connies are fantastic bikes, I have three. I have an 08 c14 and 2 zg1000’s from 91 and 2005. There is no way it’s worth anything close to that price, I bought my 05 about a month ago with upgrades and extras I fantastic shape for 800 dollars. These bikes are worth about 1500 in great shape at best, sport touring bikes don’t hold their value very well

I'm 69 years old and I have a 2001 that just turned 20K. Runs like a top. Navy Blue and everything works just like it is suppose to. I'm probably going to either sell it or I'll probably give it to my son if he would agree to get him a smaller bike to learn on. This is not a beginners bike.

Is getting parts for this bike still possible? Want one so bad
@kyleklintok77305 жыл бұрын
I had a 2001 and apart from the instruments, I can't tell a SINGLE difference. Same color and everything. It would cruise effortlessly at 80 all day long. If it could pull redline in 5th, mathematically that's 159mph. I liked the bike with two exceptions. Don't get behind a semi. The wind-wash would start a bad side-to-side aerodynamic tail wobble because of the giant-brick saddlebags. And two, never try a tight u-turn. It's so top heavy, if you weren't careful, you would be picking it up. Beside that, it was $4,000 cheaper than a Honda ST1100 and reliable as a hammer.
