1980's were great times at RFK. What a place that was!. Another NFL strike as per 1982. And another Superbowl win. Although the play of this game was by Reggie White. What a player he was.

Yep retro, if you did the last 20 years there would be wayyyy less but if you combine several years we would have double digit wins but triple digit losses 😢😂😂😂😂 but I was little wen these games were played and miss these glory years

Great game and the start of the season long QB controversy ultimately won by Williams. Love to see the game against the Giants at RFK. Came back from 19-3 to win.

Haha. I just watched America’s Game. I’m a Browns fan, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Joe Gibbs and the Washington Redskins. PS-Your welcome for our moronic trade of Earnest Byner.

This was the best era in Redskins history, the team fell off a cliff since Daniel Snyder has owned it, so happy he was forced to sell the team. I expect the Commanders to have a great season in 2023.

~~ I do remember this game - what a fumble-fest - and who knew the 290 lb Reggie White could run that fast ? what an amazing athlete he was .. R.I.P. RW

Skins had the eagles number in the 70s and 80s. Philadelphia had just 2 sweeps of Washington in a 31-year span from 1962-1992. They played twice every year in that time

Is it sad that in 2022 I'm watching this just to remember what it's like for the Washington offense to actually move the ball? lol God bless Scott Turner. Hope he calls a good game tomorrow night.

So how did the strike transpire? Normal players opened the season? Then they went on strike a few games into the season? Then a deal was reached with the player's union a few weeks later?
@RetroSkins Жыл бұрын
That sounds right. Week 3 cancelled. Weeks 4-6 played with strike players. Week 7 back to the regulars. For the skins, who were very well prepared for the strike/replacement plan, the replacement games came over an early season patch of three division games, including biggies at NY and Dallas. The replacements really paved the way for a early lead in the division that set the time for the year.

@@RetroSkins That must have been hell for all the coaches and GM's trying to suddenly scout, coach, and gameplan for players they knew nothing about. All those replacement players should have been given a Super Bowl ring.

Do you happen to have Dallas @ Washington in 2005? I’ve looked everywhere for this game

The Eagles had their moments in games but they were so poorly coached. No offensive strategy at all. Their O line from 1986 and 1987 was the worst in NFL history. If not for Cunningham, this team would be dependant solely on their D

If not for the Cardinals being in the NFC east, the Eagles would have been the basement dwellers of the division
@flexiblestrategist9922 Жыл бұрын
@@jimmieleepatterson Yep. Year after year Buddy Ryan guaranteed them winning the NFC east. They barely won the NFC East in1988 on default because the Giants and Redskins had off years and the Cowboys were already terrible.
