Still and probably forever my favorite show of all time. I was so lucky to grow up 15 mins from Vanguard hall. SCV and Jonz forever ❤️💚 ( I seriously miss VK too btw)

Loved seeing this after sooooo many years. I aged out of SCV, after four great seasons, in 1987 and remember this show and the venue and campus well. I'm in Indiana right now for DCI 2022, staying with a dear friend who marched Garfield 1987! So for all of you "SCV should have won" commenters below, thank you...but it's all good. I think most of us are long over it and just happy we were able to make such a huge and historical impact on the activity with this little show we loved performing so much! Just because we didn't win doesn't mean we didn't win in the end - because y'all are still discussing it and arguing about it all these years later. Had we actually won, I doubt anyone would still be talking about it as much or as passionately now. :) Garfield was amazing too and they deserved it. BTW, I'm the one playing marimba at 32:04. Hi!! *waves*

I remember watching DCI on that "This is Drum Corps" vid from the early 90s & fantasizing about marching on one of those tenor lines. I can hear Drum Corps tales like this all day long. Nice Marimba!

Hey! 87 was my last year, too! I "aged myself out" though and played the next two years with Jerome and Rich in the SF Symphony Youth Orchestra (RIP Rich 😢) I was in the contra line but often found myself playing mad libs with you and the pit on many a tour evening! What a great pit we had! That stop in Bloomington was a lot of fun and I remember it well. Somehow I found myself standing center court in Indiana's basketball arena when we had an afternoon off. I also remember most of those high school kids at the show came to a clinic earlier that day. There was so energy in that audience that night!

Hey alright! My Mozart "Eine Kleine Nacht Muzik" Bass cadence! I wrote that for the bass line. I thought it was lost. Cool to hear that again. I marched tenors this year in SCV.

I want somebody to take on this. In velvet night's aim to be silly Whimsical and just having fun they actually look more closer towards the drum corps of the later years then the drum corps of that time. Does anybody notice that? Like just the first moments of the opener the show seems to move very quickly versus just standing still for the most part in play

Yes. They were better than everyone.........except Garfield. The dissolving company front changed the activity and my life (or at least the activity).
