I’m the one who recorded this copy originally on VHS. I lived in Arkadelphia, Arkansas at the time. The first warning that appears is Clark County where Arkadelphia is located. The weather was severe all afternoon and I was always worried the power would go out. I traded a copy of this game back in the 90s for another game...crazy to see it here over 20 years later.

Nothing more appropriate than a tornado warning during an Oklahoma-Nebraska football game. Glad you didn't lose power.

I love u bro… I saw this at 15 years old as a black kid in Washington DC. I just wanted to beat OU in 87. We got our revenge in 88. It’s like a city kid that never saw corn fields and on that day the Cornhuskers showed me the light again

Switzer and Osborne have become friends over the years. I miss the Nebraska-Oklahoma rivalry, one of the great rivalries in history.

That interview at 2:18:35 with Barry was so on-brand. Barry mentions absolutely everyone possible before himself. Always a class act, heroic.

What a year that was. And think two teams that are 9-1 are totally out of the national championship picture. So many great teams that year .

This is perhaps my favorite game in the series. I know a lot of people love big offensive production, but I've always loved dominate defenses, and neither team disappointed. We were on the edge of our seats the entire game, one mistake, one big play, in a game like this, so low scoring, could decide it all. At the end of the game it was such a relief... almost more "whew" than celebration. Thompson laying on the field injured... Little did anyone know what was about to blow up in Norman. I think it was a month or two later and the Sports Illustrated came out with OU QB Charles Thompson on the cover, still hobbled by the injury, now looking at serious prison time for selling drugs. A couple months later Coach Switzer was out, and it began about a 10 year period of abysmal football for Oklahoma. I was glad when they came back, now if only Nebraska could do the same. I miss those days, I actually miss hating Oklahoma.

What a strange game that was. Capped by Charles Thompson sustaining a broken leg at the end, leaving OU with a crippled Jamelle Holieway to limp up and down the field while running the wishbone against Clemson in the bowl game. Now THAT was painful to watch.

As a life long Nebraskan and a HUGE Husker fan... I spent this game doing pushups outside a Drill Sgt’s office in Ft Sill, Oklahoma. They lied to me the entire game. After hundreds of pushups done for “EVERY OU SCORE” I was ON CLOUD 9 when the Drill SGTs told me Nebraska won!! Best game I never saw. ITS SAD THEY DONT PLAY THIS CLASSIC RIVALRY ANYMORE. OU vs NEBRASKA. WOOHOO!!

Thank you Ken Clark. You were one of my favorite RB’s for The Big Red. Great game this day. In victory over the Sooners. The good guys get a win with Dominating Defense. R.I.P Ken.

Ken Clark sadly passed on 10 years ago. However, his son Quin a Wide-Receiver from Montana is committed to Nebraska for next year. Hopefully he will have a significant impact in the future. @@robertnoble6600

Great prize for the winner - playing Miami in the orange bowl. Miami could have easily played for the tie at ND that year and was probably the best team in the nation.

It was terrible for Oklahoma .They lost to USC,Nebraska, and Clemson. Several months later, quarterback Charles Thompson and two players were arrested for drugs, and the school was placed on probation from 1989 to 1992.
