Doudeva's routine is just breathtaking in choreography and tumbling (Top 6 in my list)!! SO AHEAD OF THEIR TIME (the Bulgarians in this final overall).

Giuseppe Ricci that move is called a Rulfova, named for Czech gymnast Jana Rufolva, who first competed it at World Championships in 1981. 🙂

Potorac had a slight adjustment on the beam and lost a few style points too. Silivas had the gold for the taking from carry-over. I thought Potorac and Mills should have tied for silver and Shushunova taken bronze, but oh well.

AMEN to both ......Shush as usual won not because she was graceful or fluid (she was NEVER either) but because she did hard tricks, sadly. I'll admit she does stick the dismount, sort of, and the Rulfova was something almost NO ONE did then, but ugh. Potorac BLOWS her away with fluidity and ease, and makes everything look pretty (something Shush also never did.....) Gold for Silivas, tied silver for Potorac and Mills, and the lead medal for the girl who should NEVER HAVE WON THE AA!!!!!!!!!!!

If Potorac and Miller had tied for silver (I agree with this btw) then no bronze would have been awarded as the next place is always skipped when there is a tie.

Dudeva did a lot of justice to those tumbling passes. In new life she could have had a real chance at gold.

Dudeva was perpetually screwed and underskored by the likes of Smelly Scrim and her vomitous Russkytroll compatriots. It wasn't JUST US gymnasts who were robbed.

OurPeanutGallerie If Elena did not have the wobble on the easy full turn, technically she may have beaten Silivas. A Rulfova(full twisting Korbut) was unheard of in 1988. Very few gymnasts in 2015 does that very underrated and difficult skill. Potorac was better than Mills even with that very silly error on a very easy skill. WIthout it, she would have won. Doudeva was ripped off. That was more difficult than anyone else's routine.

Shushunova was scored waaaaay too high. The only medal I agree with is Silivas for gold. Phoebe Mills was flawless and she and Potorac should’ve tied for silver. Shushunova always benefited from the Soviet bias from the old scoring system. I wouldn’t have even had her medal here but the fact that she got freaking silver is a disgrace.

Actually, sadly, she is an example of exactly the opposite. She was never graceful NOR elegant (only compared to now, I'm afraid) and should NEVER have won that AA--an utter disgrace. Silivas blew her away in every way, including the double-double on floor.
