1989 Arctic Blast & Windchill G.I. Joe review

This is a review of the unique GI Joe snow assault vehicle "Arctic Blast" and it's driver; Windchill. The Arctic Blast is remembered for it's bizarre buggy-frame and giant wheels, while Windchill is remembered for having guns permanently attached to his skis. It's an odd set, I'm not gonna lie.

FInally Arctic Blast and Windchill! I had/have this vehicle and figure, found Windchill in a wooden cigar box of Joes and parts juts the other day. Always liked his look

As kids we always called those "Skipedoes" As in "Ski-torpedo". Common theme on Gi Joe and Cobra snow vehicles.

The spikes at the back of his boots are used for just that "ice". His vehicle has the set up for ice recon

I got the Arctic Blast for Christmas in 89, I was extremely lucky as it snowed 3 ft that year a rarity here in SE North Carolina this toy was a blast along with the Stalker I received from m y older brother I used Cobra Hovercrafts in the snow against this

Popular or not, it took forever for me to find a rifle for my childhood Windchill this past year. Strange that I don't recall having an Arctic blast, must have gotten it second hand.

Windchill should have come with a standard issue Joe Lazer Rifle. It's ideal for artic weather. Never jams and can be use to start an emergency fire for survive.👍😉

I use the hole on the back to store a backpack for Windchill. Great review but I must say, I don't like the new background. It hid the details of the items. Made them very subdued.

The Action Force versions of 1982 Breaker and 1985 Airtight were German. There might have been more in later years. Check out BloodForTheBaron.com -its a website that has all the bios for Action Force characters.

FWIW I had two of these as a kid (I got a double as a birthday present one year) and the guns on both sets of skies did snap off from normal play wear. I seem to remember the barrel being a particular weakpoint.
