Your awning is not set up right. The top bars go to the top and click in and you use them to keep the awning tight. As you have done it you offer the wind a 2-3 advantage leverage wise to wrecking your awning as opposed to how it's designed to work. Un-clip your awning one time and try and ground post the supports and you will quickly realize the way you did it is totally wrong. The top supports are suppose to go all the way up to the awning and then be drawn tight before the screws are tightened. The way you are setting the top braces of your awning indicates you have no experience. They are supposed to be slid up to the top of the awning and then tighten the clamp screws and then you can do what you want with the bottom supports. The way you have done it is wrong and you are asking for a wind gust to destroy your awning. Many awnings have mid support clamp on the top support which as far as I can tell are completely useless in wind but for love of god what did you think that was for if you don't raise the top support bar? You did it wrong. If I have some time I will make a video about how to set out a manual awning and also maybe about why you should never buy an electric awning. The video about how to set up a manual awning is necessary because you did it totally wrong and the video about electric awnings being a bad choice is because they just blow off if there is a wind gust. Slide the top supports to the top and then tighten them. The way you did it is totally wrong and indicates a lack of knowledge.
