Man I wanted to be out there so bad today but couldnt make it. Didnt even get the opportunity to see the 767 yesterday either. Figured Id be able to catch it in your video! I got some pretty cool video on pit road though.

I will never get over how loud this thing is. That 1991 LeMans win was a defining auto racing event of my childhood. Even though I could only read about it in magazines, that race made me an endurance race fan for life.

The driver is an old friend of mine, Jonathan Bomarito, he was a factory Mazda racecar driver for years and he apparently gets the best side gigs. You can catch his name on his helmet 1:10. He’s the real deal. Grew up racing shifter carts, top 3 in country, went on to open wheeled formula classes and eventually sports cars. Won Daytona in a Mazda Rx8 I think and then eventually drove that insane Mazda prototype they raced a few years ago. Great gem in already an amazing video!

Yeah he's been around awhile and seems like a really good dude. I guess I first heard of him from the Grand Am series RX8s and then on to the ALMS Viper team before driving the Mazda DPi's. I assume he has a role as a Mazda ambassador of sorts now

This one didnt win lemans, but it still has that sweet sound! Glad i was able to see both the 767 and 787 at long beach when they came with historic racing

I'd love to see the 787B. They said this car won the GTP class at Le Mans in 1989, granted that class consisted of 3 entries, all Mazda 767B's

It ran in the group 6 sprint race but didn't compete in the 24 hour event
