1989 Porsche 911 3.2 Speedster | First Drive

The very first Speedster, the 356, was designed for the US market. Porsche built the 356 Speedster as a cheaper and more sporting alternative to the Coupe and Cabriolet.
In 1987, some three decades after the original, Porsche unveiled the 911 3.2 Speedster. Based on the 3.2 Carrera the Speedster benefitted from a number of upgrades from the 930 Turbo. Better brakes, flared arches and of course a low slung trademark look.

It even looks good with the hood up, which is rare on this type of low production sports car. It would have been nice to actually see the process of putting the hood up, but maybe the video wasn't long enough for that...

Amazing car. One of my favorite 911s of all-time. If i had a lot of money that would be be on my garage. Even better 2. One wide body original and one with the turbo engine of the 930. :)
