Johnny O's outfit was stylish as Hell. The '89 Suzuki's were a night and day difference from the previous five years of models. The 125's went from being an odd handling bike with nothing but top end power to a bike that handled better than anything else on the track. All I had to do is think about turning and the bike did the rest. I went from an '85 that was all top end and had beautiful rear suspension to an '87 that was the same power-wise, but the bike felt twenty pounds lighter because it didn't have the Full Floater that had a ton of linkage. I could flick that bike around like it was an 80. Then my '89 was 100% completely different. All low end with just a bit of mid-range which was great for a beginner, but for a fast guy it was very frustrating because it had no top end whatsoever. But boy could that thing handle! I fell in love with that bike the day I got it. I even had a friend who refused to move on from his '89 RM 250 because he loved how it handled and this was in 2004.

I didn't ever follow any ones career really closely but I race so I study people style to see what I can learn, trouble with watching pros is they blend their moves on the bike so well in regular time its almost impossible to learn unless u put it on super slow mo...but even in real time I can see how Ricks broken wrist has changed his style compared to when I watch him in the prior 5 years he's really having trouble get the throttle on to full position he's having to move his whole arm and shoulder and its really throwing his body out of sorts it amazing he surely would have won titles for at least two more year I heard about the practice crash at Gainsville many years after it happen and now I see how it affected him,but he's still going fast, but its really got him off balance and he's big so its messing with upper body he can't counter it as quick either....he's doing great hiding it.
