Been looking for info on how to do this for a long time. Thanks to you, my GTA is blowing cold A/C again and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Thanks for posting stuff like this, sure appreciate it.

Awesome, glad to hear! I had a valve go bad shortly after this video, I need to fix it unfortunately.

Good video. The AC has blown hot air in my 1998 Firebird for years, but I just suffer through.

Easy fix and relatively cheap.. you can use my gauges!

Did you have to put any inserts on the suction line that goes to the compressor? Getting a leak from there were the green o ring is at

I'm not sure I know which fitting you're referring to. I did have a valve give out on the high pressure side, so I need to get that swapped out this year.

where did you find the specification for how much r134a to put in and how much oil to put in? when you buy the compressor does it tell you?
@RamblinGarage7 ай бұрын
There's calculations for it, I had to search on the third gen pages

Did u keep the old R12 oil in?

@@RamblinGarage perfectly done thats how u shut convert ure AC. I am thinking of recharging my car with R12,meaning i have a 1984 GM car with the huge Harrison A6 compressor that stil has pressure,even the car is parked in a barn for several years,i will take it out next month,replace the tires fluids fuel and vaccuum the system and put R12 in it.(i was super lucky i got my hands on a big new 13 14kg cylinder).

You put in 4 cans of R134a

R134A is crap on old cars.. too high pressures causes leaks ! R12 much colder and less pressure !
@RamblinGarage Жыл бұрын
That's why you replace o-rings and valves :) R12 isn't much colder if at all to 134a.
@ericheld43829 ай бұрын
R12 and R 134a pressures are almost the same.
@Heve628 ай бұрын
Its the size of the r134a molecyle that can escape through a smaller hole that causes the leak with r12 orings
