Philly wasn’t the only one. Anyone who had a multi purpose stadium played on thin carpet over concrete. Cinn, Pittsburg, St Louis to name a few. Imagine playing 82 baseball games on that hard concrete every year.

The 49ers came to Philadelphia two weeks earlier in Week 3 and beat the Eagles in a shootout, 38-28. Joe Montana threw three touchdown passes in the 4th quarter to rally past Randall Cunningham in one of the most entertaining games of 1989, on their way to back-to-back Super Bowl titles❤️💛
