I bough the same car in 1992, in the same colour. I have now 96.000 KM and the car is still in a good shape. I have changed the rooftop one time. Very pleasant car to drive.

People say driving the original Alfa Spider (S1-S4) would put a smile on your face. There's a viewer saying everyone's got to have an Alfa, I know what he means. It is definitely worth having one and keeping one, considering how simple the mechanics (lack of ridiculous computer circuit boards which we can find virtually everywhere) and how reliable the machine is.

gerda melle Everyone should own an Alfa at least once in their lives. Matt.

Thanks. I have an S4 which I have kept since I bought it in 2004. The car is a true beauty and there is no way`(in my opinion) for any owners to sell theirs.

The last update looks fantastic. This car aged much better than the MGB and Fiat 124 and it outlived the TR7.

What a beauty. I have a rusty series 3 rolling chassis and am wondering if I could "transplant" a series 4 car on to it.

The Alfa stands it's time and this mk4 has still got the lines and cuts a dash, but owning and running is a case of deep pockets with alfa's. I must say great angles and reviews a great channel

The 2007 Alfa Brera and Spider were not RWD, they were FWD (2.2L and 2.4JTDM) or AWD (GM based 3.2L V6). The Serie IV Spider in the U.S had an option of driver's airbag (Alfa 164 steering wheel) and a 3-speed automatic gearbox made by ZF.

oof..just checked 3rd and 4th series with the 2000cc engine , in mint condition with certified work go for 15k/16k in Italy...

Ayden, if we base production worldwide, then you are actually wrong as they did sold spiders in the USA till 1994. so that means they where 1990 version in the US and some other European countries I own 4 Alfa's a 1983 Spider a 1987 75 , a 1991 Quad 164 and a 2015 4C.

I wish there were more options in the USA for the classic roadster. No modern car could ever replace the feel of my old Triumph Spitfire 1500... Classic looks and despite being a BL made car, it was quite reliable as a daily driver.
@ClassicCarsDriven8 жыл бұрын
Tracking prices of Spitfires through auction and they have risen above like for like Triumph Stag's with good ones fetching £10,000 - £12,000. That would suggest you're not alone in appreciating this often overlooked little car. Matt.
@TheDonCucaracho8 жыл бұрын
+ClassicCarsDriven I've seen plenty of Spitfires in junkyards in the US. Actually that's where I first saw them a couple of years ago (sadly), a pile of them, alone gathering dirt and rusting away, and I immediately fell in love. The size and the shape is something that caught my eye ever since. Sadly, stupid mexican laws won't allow me to import one as a project car. They look like mini Aston Martins
@ClassicCarsDriven8 жыл бұрын
+TheDonCucaracho Crazy that you cannot import, and a real shame. Matt.
@slacksmore8 жыл бұрын
+ClassicCarsDriven Spitfires are less common sights such as your average Ferrari or Lamborghini. In Las Vegas, I would have something truly exclusive among a bespoke Roller or Bentley but able to fit in the smallest parking spaces. As outrageous as it sounds to compare those three brands in one sentence, it's a testament of just how rare seeing a Triumph really was. Especially with the hardtop attached in winter.

This name was probably a mistake in pronunce. Probably a british or american car with this shape came to Italy with the name: "speeder", and was wright in italian way: "spider". None in Italy think to an arachnid seeing this car. In Italy before WW2 the first language studied at scool was french, and not english like now.

This is not a 1990. This is a 1991. In 1990 the car still had the black spoiler on the back and the traditional wheels. Series 4 lasted from 91 to 93, chief.

Whoops. Sorry about that. Matt.

Series 4 started in 91 IN THE US, rest of the world, 90. So it's quite possible that this car is 1990

A low-mileage Alfa spyder in good condition is essentially selling for the same price when it was new - classic design. I don’t think the review was very accurate in some respects. Look, the drive train and suspension are essentially unchanged from the 70’s versions. Despite new gauges and styling, the car is just not anything vaguely modern. Compared to even a basic Mazda Miata, the handling is a bit tired and wobbly. If you like the car, you can forgive this. But it’s about the style, not the performance. 0-60 is an anemic 10 seconds. Keep in mind, that’s down-hill with the wind behind you on heigh test.

alfa romeo didn't make a 1990 the just sold 1989's

They made 7106 spiders in 1990. Production ended in 1993.
@charlesbolton84713 жыл бұрын
@@ChefPelle There wasn’t a 1990 model available in the US. This body style was available outside the US as a 1990 model. Additionally, production of this version actually ended in with the 1993 model year as the rest of the world got the 1994 new body style Spider that was never sold in the US. The US got left over 93s to sell as 1994 models.
