Not really man, maybe the Corvette but 600hp is nothing new, the class of cars with 600hp has changed though. There were cars like XJ220 with a 3.5l TT V6 with 542hp way back in ’92. That's why I laugh when people say how awesome the Ford GT 3.5l TT V6 motor is in 2017 with 625hp...

@@g00dl00kinb0i Difference is that Jaguar was squeezing horsepower out. The GT really isn’t. You just can add more boost to make the numbers go higher. Efficiency and improvement in the castings of parts can make a big difference.

@Destrux Sure that's true but high performance parts existed back then too. In the '90s there used to be a company called Koenig Specials, not be mistaken with Koenigsegg of today, not sure if it still exists but they used to tune the finest cars on the planet into fully drivable everyday rockets by simply adding Garrett turbos to already high grade N/A engines. Way back then they were also capable of turning the boost up on a Twin-Turbo V12 Lamborghini Diablo or the F50 or even low displacement V8 Ferrari F40. Those packages came with warranties and varied from 650 to nearly 1000hp.

The speedo goes out on many cars. Not just ZR1's lots of C4's suffer from this. You can rebuild the circuit yourself or buy a rebuilt cluster for about $450.00 . The service engine light probably has to do with the headers. Many times it will cause the 02 sensors to read rich and set codes 45&65 for left and right bank 02 sensor circuit rich. The service ride control will come on if there is a problem with the FX3 ride control. If the car is jacked up it will come on but usually after the suspension resets it will go off within a few miles of driving.

I would love to be in your shoes,, and have a friend like yours to allow me to drive his or her ZR 1 "Supernatual" Calloway Corvette.. I hope the check engine light was something minor and other light hope it too was a simple fix.. but to listen to engine purr while your driving it .. only made me want one of my own.. hopefully someday.. thanks for sharing and I agree if a friend aske me to drive his or her Calloway Supernatural I would be a fool not to record this.. On my 90, I have the same problem with my speedometer and odometer. I believe it is the variable speed sensor "VSS". I will be replacing it soon.

Motor squeaks a lot man, you need a touch longer serpentine belt or a new pulley. Btw, the VSS will not set off the DTC codes, its symptom will be a dead instrument cluster.
