She is a sweet runner if I lived closer I would’ve got it from ya . Is true about 2 strokes they each have their own ways they like to start . I got one I have had for years that was my grandpas and it only likes to cold start on half choke . As always Sir thanks for the short ride along and Keep’em coming

I have an 85 25hp and it took me quite a while to figure out the starting sequence. I ended up with a pattern just like you demoed... from unable to start to starting cold first pull

Hey Mike I’m really enjoying your videos… lots of great information. I’m currently trying to get my 1976 35hp Evinrude going. Having trouble getting the timing/points set. I noticed a lot of the older models have the little cam that slides down over the shaft with the “T” indicator… mine does not. I don’t know if it’s missing or did it never have one. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Nicely done Michael, it's satisfying to finally figure out the perfect cold start recipe to look like a pro with your classic outboard at the boat ramp lol. I myself brought a 1954 25hp johnson out from a 50 year retirement haha I found it to be a very strong motor, only half throttle to plane out my 14ft fishing boat and think 25hp rating is underrated for those 34ci powerheads, could be just be a torque monster rather than hp I also thought. Just FYI, of the several outboards I have, this one is the toughest to pull start by far. Any more than a few pulls and it gets to be a real chore lol.

I watch your videos all the time, I'm a Johnson guy, and have lower ends and various parts. If you were closer to my location I'd do some horse trading. I have a 1972 25hp Johnson I would love to get running right again. Some people like yourself have the nack to work on these old two strokes and some don't ie me lol. Anyway keep up the great videos

Michael, I enjoy your videos you are very knowledgeable on the repairs and upkeep of these motors. I am hoping you can help me with this old 1967 Sea King 9HP motor that I recently acquired. Any ideas on where I could get water pump parts (impeller and seals) I have really beat the bushes trying to locate these parts. I need an impeller with a 7/16 shaft size. most impellers that list shaft size are slightly larger that 1/2" . thanks for your help.

Seafoam can be useful, I haven't used the mystery in the two strokes yet, I just like the Amsoil outboard oil and regular gas, no alcohol. Thanks for watching

Why do you not tighten up your side to side movement on your out board? It flops around like a dieing chicken. You even have to fight the motor just to change the gear oil. And if you ever fall out of the boat while going fast it will emendate take turn running over you, Not good. And you can never let go of the handle while moving, because it wile take a hard turn left or right. And I have seen you fight it just trying to start it. Flopping from side to side.. Just watch this video and watch your self as to how many times you have to pull the out board back to were you want it
