I have 2 of these! A twin turbo 89 t top 5 speed and a 92 Slicktop twin turbo automatic. The spark plugs is one of the easiest things to do. My dad has a 86 and it came with a spark plug tool that has a rubber grip in it so its easy to loosen and grip the spark plug. Not difficult at all. Just gotta remove the balance tube and your good. Nice review!

Great video, others pointed out the minor mistakes. I enjoyed it! When the Z32 first debuted it was the fastest Japanese car you could buy for reasonable money. By 1994 the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and Toyota Supra TT were both faster in a straight line but Nissan still chose to keep the Z32 the same; I think they knew owners would mod it and the original formula worked so well. Although a tad slow in a straight line (compared to its competition) the 300ZX TT handled amazingly well and was immensely fun to drive.

In a motor week test in 96 this was faster than the soupra rx7 and 3000gt. Watch link at 3.15. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6Cteaqve9SYpMU

@@sunilayya8948 Too bad in 94 the VR-4 beat all the times in that test running 60 in 4.9 and the 1/4 in 13.5@103. It completely nullifies the test in 1996. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXO3qJZunZKWpKs

@@sunilayya8948 I have links on links. After 94 the Z was slower than the Supra and VR-4 by quite a bit. Motortrend, Road and Track and Best Motoring have all proved that the Z is the slowest of the 4. There's literally that 96 test (which was nullified by the earlier VR-4 test) and one article where a 1g Stealth TT lost to a ZTT. Other than that the Z lost
@goldstandardgrooms21562 жыл бұрын
@@sunilayya8948 I owned both, a 91 ZTT 5 speed and a 97 VR-4. The Mitsubishi is markedly faster in a straight line, there's no comparison. Even off a roll the gearing in the VR4 allows it to pull on the Z. From 0-150 the Z is two car lengths behind consistently even with different drivers. That test is BS. The 96 Zs had *less HP* (all had 280hp) bc Nissan removed something from the engine, it's the slowest year. They just wanted to give the Z a good send off. Also the VR4 beat that time in a different test by MW.

I had a Red Twin Turbo 1990 Z, one of the first as each dealer only got one per month. Great review, but not quite stock - I'm guessing new turbo as their was no adjustment and there was well known turbo lag - even in the famous Ridley Scott 'Blade Runner" AD (on YT). Also, I'm guessing he has modified exhaust as the Z was very quiet. I waited 15 years to buy a similar car - a 2005 silver Infiniti G35 300hp that I modified to about 330hp without turbo. No turbo lag, very fast for 05 but the specs are very similar. Best of all sunroof - no stupid T tops and foldable rear seat and lower insurance rates. Only must recommendation is spend the money on Michelin Pilot 4 Sports - best handling, braking tire out there. It grabs off the line, as both my cars would hop with the standard tires, spinning them until I hit 3rd gear. I'd recommend the newer G35 or G37 over the Z.

In 40 years this design would still look beautiful and sci-fi. Stunning cars back in the '90s from Japan. Nissan 300ZX Toyota Supra, MR2, Celica Mitsubishi GTO Supercar looks and feels for family sedan money. And timeless looks. Can't beat that. Sure AMG and M3/M5 are faster, better, have more gadgets. But they cost your pension and they have no presence, nothing special; they look outdated on the car magazine pages (even before they are launched)! And everyone has one, too common.

You'd be surprised - before I bought my 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 I cross shopped it with the W210 E55 AMG, C208 CLK55 AMG and E46 M3. The Mitsubishi is just as fast as all of the above cars and actually can beat the M3 and E55. Never dragged a CLK55 but from the test drive they were similar acceleration wise. At this point I already had a 91 300ZX Twin Turbo 5 speed and finally settled on the Mitsuhishi which was cheaper than the German cars. No regrets, that Mitsu ran 13.3-13.5@101-105mph stock.

Nice job on the tour of this beautiful car! When I got my GTA my friend had a gorgeous 300ZX in gold; not a twin turbo IIRC, but still a fun ride. We were 20-something programmer nerds flying around in these cars. 2:50 Re: coming out of the '80s into the '90s, my little brother had the '87 Buick Grand National. That turbo car flew. I think that just makes your point, that there were not many powerful cars back then.

I used to have 2 of these . The first one was a White 1996 2+2, it was stolen from me Later , I had a Red 1996 NA , I sold it after driving it for 160K miles. I still miss them a lot. Q. What does everyone here think about the looks of 300zx vs the New 400z ? I remember in 199o,when I first saw the 300zx in flesh, I just fell in love with its looks

Personally I really like the look of the new Z but I’m not a huge fan of the “floating roof” design, otherwise it’s great. I also can tell how the rear design and taillights are reminiscent of the 300zx design so I like that callback. Also sorry to hear about your stolen Z that sucks man. And thanks for liking the video!
