@jamesgallagher1992 No doubt. The matches are a mess, the interviews/promos suck, and the booking generally is all over the place.

These guys got over on their own, in their own unique way. Nowadays it seems like there are a set number of gimmicks or acts that they give wrestlers, ie: punk chick, glamor girl, goth girl, preppy girl etc and the punk guy, muscle guy, rap guy, and so on. They all seem the same? It's all so contrived.

Gordy was so good. I loved the Freebirds, his teaming with Williams, and his work in Japan. But we never got to see an extended run as a single’s competitor. He was clearly good enough to hold the NWA title. His lifestyle may have been his biggest hurdle, leading up to the coma in 1993.
