The Legendary LOD, The Road Warriors!! My all time favorite tag team!! Thank you for all of the awesome memories, Hawk and Animal. May you both continue to rest in peace. 🙏
Man the crowd erupting for Khan was great. You can feel the excitement just listening to the crowd in this. You really do not see or hear it as much as in these videos.

The Japanese fans adored the Road Warriors because they were unlike anything they had ever seen. They were like Fist Of The North Star characters come to life.
@phillydisco10 ай бұрын
I'm sure they all saw the Mel Gibson movie of the same name.
I love how they let Iron Man keep playing well after Road Warriors entered the ring and started beating up the other team lol
@johnwireman2660 Жыл бұрын
And it’s the original Iron Man too instead of Iron Men. Was that an oversight or didn’t they make the Iron Men edition to be their entrance music yet?
@adamlane6453 Жыл бұрын
@@johnwireman2660 it's a heavily edited version they're playing here, cutting out the chorus and verses while leaving in the instrumental sections. Definitely not the original.
THERE WERE A LOT OF WRESTLING IN JAPAN BACK IN THE DAY. IT'S GREAT TO SEE THOSE MATCHES AFTER ALL OF THESE DECADES. MOST IF NOT ALL OF THOSE WRESTLERS ARE NOW DECEASED.

Neither Choshu Riki nor Super Strong Machine (aka Junji Hirata) is deceased as of Sep 2022.
A Road Warrior pop can be heard at the first strum of Iron Man. This comes from a normally subdued Japanese crowd and provides the proof for me that the Road Warriors were the greatest tag team in the history of professional wrestling. Were they the most athletic? No. Were they the best on the microphone? No. But they had IT.
@geminidee21 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree. They had the right look, right skillset and the energy to match.
@daspie2765 Жыл бұрын
I agree, but I find them quite athletic for men of their size!
@user-ix3qo5un8p Жыл бұрын
All Japan crowds in the 80’s and 90’s weren’t known for being “subdued.” That’s a weird talking point that I hear a lot. But the greater point, Road Warriors we’re extremely over everywhere they went. I don’t think they’re the greatest, but from a drawing standpoint, it’s tough to argue.
@PaulSmith-sb7sj Жыл бұрын
Then I stand corrected. I barely saw anything from Japan during that time, I just read about it in the Apter magazines. I just assumed that when wrestlers nowadays talk about their time in Japan that it was ALWAYS subdued.

They were actually pretty damn athletic, but I agree with the rest.

The Road Warriors were a dominant tag team all over the world. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇯🇵
Strong Kobayashi has a short run in WWE when Blasse started managing. One of the funny things with him is that after taking out a jobber, they were stretching him out and for whatever reason the officials let him carry one end and he smashes it on the floor and start beating the jobber.
