That Miami LB corps was fantastic. Definitely mentionable in the best ever LB unit ever.

Bermuda Triangle. I was on the field for a Cowboys/Giants game in Dallas. Jesse Armstead was on the sideline. I yelled Jesse numerous times…He ignored my call. The second I yelled Bermuda Triangle he pumped his fist, came over and shook my hand and took a photo with me.

To this day, this is the ONLY game I can remember where sports writers rooted FOR Miami, due to Houston's penchant for running up scores on opponents like SMU.

Rusty Medares is an All Time Cane who was robbed of a great pro career by a cheap shot that wrecked his knee in the Arizona game. Gino Torretta had the athletic ability of an out shape 45 year old man.

I remember this game. Knowing Coach…he’s gonna be mixing up some of these packages. Nothing like good old fashion “smash mouth” run up the gut football. This season is going to be special. Haven’t felt this way since the turn of the century. Go Canes forever!

After losing twice in '90, I thought maybe UM would fall back. Went to this game to see UH give them trouble . . WRONG! Look at how fast Miami's D is. I think this the best all around team of the early Champ teams they had. The LB's, DL depth, OL group, Wr's and best K.

Wow I'm so glad I found a shortened version of this game. I was there and took my little brother , I noticed him crying when they took the field ..people really have no idea how loud and rowdy that place was. Especially for night games . That stadium literally shook , especially the closed in end zone which if I remember was the student section. They literally opened the gate and if you had a ticket in the student section there was no assigned seats just kind of every man for himself . Paying 20$ to park in someone's yard in little Havana. Knowing damn well you were going to be blocked in. . good times.
@dave0116792 жыл бұрын
The West Endzone was always general admission seating but the student section was on the home sideline near the opposite endzone.

Thank you for posting this one. I was obsessed with Klingler and the R&S. They were good in 90 and just missed out on the cotton bowl. Brought everyone back in 91 and got smoked by the canes. I was so distraught.

@@keithswafford8786 it’s just as bad now. I have some old 1989-1990 Houston cougar all-22 film I posted on KZbin and John Jenkins himself had it removed for copyright. Anything with the words run and shoot gets flagged much of the time.

It's funny how bias clouds your judgement. The further away you get from it the more evident it was that Gino wasn't that good of a quarterback. The critics said he win the Heisman because he was the qb of the #1 team in the nation. They were right lol.
