I live in rural Tennessee and these bikes ruled the woods when I was in high school (graduated in 95) ..lots of nasty hills and hollows or as we say "hallers" old logging roads Creek crossings etc...and these bikes would rip all day long most had the 200 kdx but there was a couple 250s around ....there is nothing like hearing a pack of 20 plus two smokes on the pipe coming threw the hollows .....

Same story Bro! KDX and RMX Kicked Ass in the Mountains of WV! We had the Blackwater 100 in the 80ies and 90ies these bikes ran through Water, Mud,Rocks,Snow! Love this Channel Great Work Guys!😊💪👍

It's a 1991 but it has the graphics from a 1993 on it, I love this channel! My dad managed a Kawasaki/Suzuki shop for 30 years and I basically grew up in the shop. I remember a lot of these bikes brand new in the crate, this is awesome.

Yep the 93s were my favorite yr…I was 13 and got a 94cr125 end of the yr..grew up in our local shop too from round 89 to early 2000s..Honda/kawasaki..many yrs I’d go throw a leg over the 500s..250s..and 125 to feel the newest models..

I had that exact bike, I switched out the spark plug with a splitfire, the increase in power was very noticeable...I also had a 93 KDX 200 which was a great bike also..

Did it make your jetting more effective or just improve the combustion? I tried them in a cr125 and didnt notice that much but im sure its subjective to each individual machine

Bought my son one back when he was 13 he couldn't even touch the floor but he was wild on it, it was only the 200cc though

There's only about 3 or 4 hp difference between the 200 & 250 I think from memory.

@@andrewmurphy7401 BEST part of the 200 is they came(and 220's) with a 6 sp box- made ALL the difference- I had the 220 and loved the torque down low. Did not scream like the 200 did, but MY GOD, the low end on it would shame anything near it's size in a 4stroke. Need to find a titled 220 and register for the street!!

I had a 91 KDX 250 for 20 years. I sold it and bought a YZ 250 F. Never should have done that. I thought a more recent bike would be great. The YZF was a great bike but I had more fun with the KDX, plus I think I was faster on the KDX. If you have one, keep it.

I just updated my kdx. I have a 93’ and just put a full fmf Fatty gold series exhaust, silencer, upsized to a 36mm carb, and added Vforce3 reeds and a new top end. After all those parts it’s insane how much of a difference it is from stock.

You're never too old to play!! Got carried away there Ken! Love it🙂. I'm 49 now and can still get myself in trouble on a dirtbike regularly! An 18 year old brain and a 49 year old body sometimes don't get on with each other....you know how it is, but it won't stop me. I'm in the UK and back in about 1996 i had a nearly new 1992 Japanese import KDX250SR, the street version of this one with proper lights, speedo, turn signals and autolube 2 stroke oil injection. It was a great trail bike but the engine was a bit fragile for everyday use, because it was basically a KX250 engine a in softer tune. Only found your channel fairly recently so I'm catching up.....it's great by the way, you are living my dream Ken. Motocross/trail riding are not so popular in the UK. The authorities seem to be more hellbent on destroying the sport than nurturing it over here nowadays. It's a shame because the UK used to be leaders of the dirtbike and trials world 50-60 years ago. 30 years ago you could ride anywhere you liked in the UK, now its a very different story and very limited. The anti-fun and freedom police are in full force over here in 2021...not for me🤠. Keep it up Kap, and try not to F yourself playing on the dirtbikes🤕

I was thinking on rebuilding the one I have in the shop .it's completely clamped and needs going through. That's why I watched this .thanks for the inspiration. I have a 1987 kdx200 I ride regularly with a old pro circuit pipe paid 300$! And just got my buddies 2011 husqvarna wr300 for 700$ , with street registration. My favorite is the '87, so easy to ride.

No tail light? Curious enough. I didn't realize they made a KDX 250. I had a '94 200 that I rebuilt after buying it off a spoiled brat's dad. The kid abused & destroyed the bike. Baseball bat material as he wrecked a brand new bike in less than two years. I now have a '98 KDX 220 with Bark Busters, handguards, & FMF fatboy chrome pipe. Forks are a little soft but you can tractor through the woods or rip a motocross track too. Love it.

I know you really know you’re stuff when it comes to bikes mate and I hate to even point it out because to me your the man but at about 8:24 you said K.I.P.S stood for Kawasaki injection powervalve system and like I said as much as I hate to correct you K.I.P.S stands for Kawasaki intergrated powervalve system the reason I know this is I have a 92 KDX 200 that I wish was clean as that 250 that is a beautiful bike anyway sir if you read this It’s an easy mistake to make all the best from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 it’s always great to see all these beautiful older bikes in such great condition much respect.

Es una moto bastante alta mi altura es de 1.80 y me costaba llegar bien con los pies al suelo..tiene un motor más lento que una kx no necesita ser muy puntiaguda su respuesta.... tiene 40 o 45 cv pero unos bajos tremendos ideales para enduro ...es sin duda la madre de las motos enduro viene de una evolución constante por parte de Kawasaki que siempre la hizo ganadora por prestaciones respuesta de su motor y chasis...la horquilla es kayaba y cumple a la perfección su trabajo ...tiene un alto consumo de combustible ..algo así como 3 km un litro de NAFTA ...la moto del vídeo tiene algunos cambios estéticos ..su escape es de nueva generación y más pequeño las calcos pertenecen al modelo 1993 el colin trasero lleva una luz y solamente posee un cuenta millas ...comparte casi en un 90 % sus componentes con la kx 250...es una verdadera aplanadora de terreno pantanoso de piedras pasa todos los obstáculos gracias a su torque y altura ..los plásticos son de excelente calidad se aguantan todos los golpes ...lo único malo es que no se encuentran a la venta ejemplares de 250 cc es realmente una pena

Tom Nekuda Because they weren’t that good..they were soft,underpowered & the KDX250 was jetted terrribly..a friend of mine had one & kept it for a season, sold it & bought a KX250 & put lights & a spark arrestor & it was a much better bike & lighter.

Tom Nekuda I did have a KDX200 & that was a great bike..I agree about being banged up, years of riding catch up with you but tbh, I miss those days. Late 80s to late 90’s were some great times on the trails & tracks.

@@tomnekuda3818 My dad recently bought an 03 KDX I've rode it multiple times through the trails it's not really slow for a 200!😂 but its definitely one the the greatest bikes I've rode on the trails. You can ride at walking speed and not have to pull in your clutch! Plus it absorbs the rocks and bumps extremely well! All around it's the best bike for the trails to have fun and fool around in my opinion!

I just dislike hearing people say ANY dirt bike that's meant for competition is underpowered...99% cannot ride this bike to full capability and rip it like ANY pro racer in GNCC, or the top pros in National Enduro, WESS Series, or FIM, Red Bull Hare Scramble series etc. That's why I ride I ride 150's to 500's - they ALL have something to offer and teach, and we all can get better @ riding..

I had a 84 kdx motor was done by croch rocket factory bike would eat 250s for breakfast. Wish I still had it.
