Wonderful car, brings back so many memories of blasting to work and taking the long way home! This is exactly the same spec as the one i had, i upgraded the wheels to 18in OZ five spoke wheels and upgraded the stereo to an Alpine unit i had. Did 150 miles a week to work and back on £15 worth of fuel...decided to fill it up once, it cost me £85...about £120 in todays fuel prices lol, never did it again but never had to. Loved the floating 3D style digital dash too. Thanks for showing it👍🏻

I just purchased this car from the guy who had it imported from you guys originally. Matched all the numbers from the auction sheet, so cool. Can happily report it now resides in the Midwest with an OEM R154 swapped into with and a big single turbo on it. If only I still had the OEM wheels, it now sits on some nice Works VSXX's though. It was funny as a detailer seeing you show off all the things I noticed I already want to fix. It'll be paint corrected and brought back it it's former glory soon. It makes me happy seeing and meeting a bunch of new people that love Soarers as much as I do. Being that a SC300 in the same color and interior was my first car this has been a dream come true. Maybe some day I can import some cars through you myself, kinda want a soarer limit or aerocabin lol

I really hope they keep this original but I know that's highly unlikely knowing it's going to the US. This is going to get fucked. 😔

Daniel oconnor If that's true, my hat goes off to you my friend. I wouldn't judge if you added things like a boost controller but these are so hard to find this stock. Such a pretty looking car too without the daft drift bodywork.
@MrAvacadoman7 жыл бұрын
I agree. Many people think it's ugly but this generation is beautiful in my opinion. I've had many heavily modified SCs and in my honest opinion stock is just way better. They are just so smooth. Don't think I'll be doing any sorts of modifications besides basic maintenance. I have other cars that are modified and it'll be nice to have a stock one haha.
@R33Racer7 жыл бұрын
Daniel oconnor Good call. There aren't many Japanese cars out here that's actually why one would call 'beautiful' (that were also styled in Japan too). The two that spring to my mind is this and the RX-7. Shows that if Japan tried, they could make a really pretty car and put her Europeans ,would shame!

Nice video Derek. I agree the 1jz is a more sporty engine but you might want to check the weights of the all aluminum UZ compared to the iron block JZ ;)
@c0c0asauce7 жыл бұрын
NightRush 1UZ is about 150lbs lighter without including the plumbing/piping/intercooler. Only reason people might think it's not a sporting engine is because it only came with a slush box attached.
@fpsColton7 жыл бұрын
c0c0asauce Indeed the UZ was initially designed for race use wasn't it? Regardless, even with a 5MT on the UZ, it doesn't really have the same immediate potential as a turbo 6, especially once you begin tuning it.
@c0c0asauce7 жыл бұрын
Mr Poopybutthole I got that off a shipper selling used engines. There maybe more or less components left on the engines when they weigh them. The 1uz in my garage looks way overbuilt to be considered economical in anyway but that's my opinion.

One of my picks for a daily driver duty in the future. Hope the prices wont spike first... Anyone have any experiences with Soarers as daily cars? Fuel tank behind the rear seats.
@Dizzy2066 жыл бұрын
I drive an SC400 which is the same thing, just rebadged as a Lexus. It is a great daily driver because of comfortability, and overall feel of the car. The only thing is it gets pretty bad gas mileage being a V8 (16-17mpg city) The engine itself is bulletproof and is one of the most well built engines ever made.

I wonder if it would be cheaper to just buy a SC in the US and just buy the motor from Japan instead.
@Bigwompa7 жыл бұрын
It probably would be cheaper, especially if you don't mind keeping it automatic. Although it would be more work obviously, and find a clean sc in the states for a decent price might prove to be a challenge. And I believe the jdm spec has slightly bigger brakes and some other small differences.
@cooliebwoy41757 жыл бұрын
Bradley Hagan well they are hard to find, but sc 300 came with a manual option so it wouldn't have to stay with an auto
@Bigwompa7 жыл бұрын
Right, but I was talking about as far as cost. The manual transmissions(r154) for the 1/2jz is very expensive, they cost as much if not more than the engines(usually some where between $1500-$2000). So if you add the cost of a clean sc300, a 1/2jz, and r154 transmission(also a clutch pedal, master and slave cylinder, clutch and flywheel, custom driveshaft, etc...) you might just be better off getting a Soarer from japan.
@cooliebwoy41757 жыл бұрын
Bradley Hagan got it, I wasn't thinking about the transmission good point

@PacificCoastAuto4 жыл бұрын
They are about 1,000,000 - 1,400,000 yen for that model plus export costs and shipping. Probably another 250,000 yen and then import costs to your country. That's the price right now. Prices seem to be on the increase. Autos are much less.
