Thanks for putting this up! Watching this makes me even more excited about my 2000 Aristo v300 landing in July! Thanks again for translating my sheet and checking the sale price. It's great to see examples with higher mileage holding up so well.

NightRush hey man, how much did your 2000 GS end up costing you landed in Canada? also what condition and kms you get it with? Thanks in advance !
@fpsColton7 жыл бұрын
Tommy 910 Mine cost more than average, it has 28,000km, is a grade 4.5 with an A interior. It is also the vertex edition, all said and done it will be nearly $10,000 CAD (this includes cost at auction, export fees, shipping, insurance, importer fees, customs clearance, duty, gst and other costs). I could have gotten a higher mileage one for a few thousand less I'm sure, but I'd rather spend the extra to have something that will be nearly new! Check my page to see my tt Mkiv Supra that was landed with only 14,000km!
@Boosted007 жыл бұрын
NightRush Thanks for the quick reply man. 28 000 kms with a grade A interior is amazing! wow. That's practically brand spanking new . I would have spent the extra couple grand also to have a such low km and good condition car. I always loved these cars and would love a JDM one with the 2J in it, but I'm not sure about the whole RHD thing and getting use to that. I wonder what it would cost me to convert it to LHD . lol Sort of serious. I'm gonna check out your supra now. I can't believe the supra has even lower kms. How much was that beast? Thanks again

Tommy 910 Thanks for the comment! My very first car was a jzs147 Aristo V (1st gen, non vvti aristo), and since then I've owned another 147, and a huge number of other cars. I remember back then we couldn't buy jzs161 Aristo in Canada but the guys in the UK could, and on the Aristo forums I was always jealous haha. This will be my first 161 and I'm very excited for it to say the least! My background with these cars is what helped me justify the extra money for a real gem.

Tommy 910 If you live in a market where you can register a RHD, then I would suggest leaving it as is and enjoying the drive. It's not difficult at all. On the other hand, if you can't register a rhd, then an engine swap on a Lexus GS is probably your best bet.

Anyone noticed the original remote key in two broken pieces inside the centre console at 13:48 ?
@MMOchAForPrez7 жыл бұрын
Victor Do I'm not surprised. That's very common with the key that came with the ES/RX/GS. If you don't turn the key with your fingers gripping the very bottom of the key close to the metal blade, it will eventually crack the key in half when you turn key in the ignition.
@Syncopia7 жыл бұрын
Victor Do Exactly! Mine IS cracked and I DO turn it at the bottom! 😂

Love these videos! The reason "why" you do not get 4 gears worth of selection is because, in the 4-speed transmission, first gear by default is selected. Therefore only 2nd, 3rd and 4th can be selected from there on. Love these cars also! At the moment I am in the market for a jzx100/jzx110 - Chaser, Mark 2, Verossa in Australia. Dam the prices of these cars have shot up recently.
@Syncopia7 жыл бұрын
Yes yes yes, best Toyota ever made. Also I recall being able to shift all 4 gears on mine. L, 2, 3 and D. L being first and D being fourth.

@PacificCoastAuto7 жыл бұрын
I was really close to saying that when I was posting the video but I was afraid of being wrong. Thanks for letting me know.
@fpsColton7 жыл бұрын
rso1980 Those tail lights came on the kouki cars, which can be identified by a chrome Toyota badge on the steering wheel, slightly different grill with less vertical bars, and those clear red taillights. The kouki began during year 2000. I believe the satnav also changed at this time, and also possibly the floor mats.

Why there is a second key hole next to the trunk opener at 14:11?
@Shwalker077 жыл бұрын
You can lock the trunk button when you drop it off lets say at a valet so they can not open the trunk. Also the valet key has no buttons on it as well so you can lock the glove box and the trunk. Older Honda's had this feature also but not to many other makes with a trunk lock.

@RBeeMedia7 жыл бұрын
brandon anderson If you look well through auctions, there are many cars that sell for this price, but not including shipping though, which is quite expensive when it is to ship a 3,000-4,000 $ vehicle. Check out their auction website you will see
@worldhello12347 жыл бұрын
An old banger with high mileage, off course. Let's say that it is US$3,500. You pay about 1 grand agent fees, about 250 for transport and loading, about 1,500 freight and don't forget about custom tariff, so it is most likely an old banger or a lucky purchase.

No, Altezza aren't as shiny. Also the Altezza ones sort of dent in with the spokes (not sure how else to describe) whereas the Aristo ones are flat.

trashy10 this question comes up alot, so if you wanna check out prices, go back to Dereks older videos, in one if them he shows how to use the auction tool he has so can check out what cars are coming up for sale, and you can also see how much the previous cars that he bought sold for, I'm guessing the prices are gonna be in Yen, so just use Google to convert Yen to Federal Reserve note ( Dollar)

@PacificCoastAuto7 жыл бұрын
The GS300 has the non-turbo 220hp version of the 2JZ. The reason the JDM one kicks so much butt is because you get the twin turbo engine. It is the only other car that comes with it. 4-door Supra!!
@Shwalker077 жыл бұрын
Plus the JDM folding mirrors, rear active steering and a few other quirks also.
