I know I am late ......But an old guy showed me a easy way to remove bearing races like those...just mig weld a few beads on them and they will fall out.....Got to do this job on my big bear 400. Thanks for posting this.

@@jasonlastname3798 I’m not exactly sure it’s been awhile since I did that and don’t even have that anymore I would suggest getting a repair manual I never had one and some things I did never made it to video good luck

Thanks for the video just what I needed. Tearing down a 96 Big Bear rebuilt the rear Dif and all seals and bearings and brakes. Something is still clicking back there so this will be the next step I reckon. 🔥

At 7 min into the video, I used a socket in place of the washer, worked great.

I am doing this to an 87 Yamaha moto 4. I can't decide whether to do this method or the weld trick. I'm assuming it falls out because of heat but metal expands when heated so the welding doesn't make sense atm. I will try the weld trick and if it falls out I'll let you know. LOL.

Pretty sure there is a bush/collar that slides into the seal then the pin slides inside collar/ bush. . Also there is a oring.

What size is the left side nut??
@sweetrigstv9520 Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure I don’t have that machine anymore but if you google oem Yamaha bigbear parts find a website they will have every nut and bolt on it listed with pictures and usually tells the size

When tapping the new bearing in use the old bearing race instead of a socket chisel piece of metal or a hammer for god sakes man
@sweetrigstv95202 жыл бұрын
Sooooo a socket is different from a race how ? As long as the contact made is on the outer race of the new bearing it won’t hurt a thing no matter what you use Myself and countless others have done many this way with no issue I also can’t figure out why a professional bearing installer such as yourself would even need to watch my videos?
