Love these games from early 90s regardless of who's playing. Because its when I began watching CFB

Loudest stadium ever. Recorded earlier that season in game versus Nebraska. My senior year at Washington. It was like coming out of a rock concert after ever game for the first three years of the 1990s!

Should’ve been a touchback or safety on Williams on the last interception.

Sloppy Huskies, VERY sloppy. Stupid penalties, dropped balls, not very indicative of a Don James coached Husky team, especially one that was ranked #1! No doubt i was sitting in my apartment down in Renton screaming at my TV! We were very lucky to get out of this one unscathed! But as we all know it surprisingly didn't last. For the same reasons I pointed out here.

1992 was a very weird year for Husky football. Most of the fanbase was in denial about the team not being as good as the year before and then obviously the Hobert scandal blew everything up.

The defense carried them as far as they could without Emtman, Fraley and some of those guys. The offense was troubled. They missed GIlby bad. The two quarterback thing was weird. Didn't have much at receiver. It was just a bit "off." Had Hobert been able to finish out the year who knows. As brilliant as Brunell was with the long NFL career, they never lost a game Hobert started right? He just had the X factor.

We believed we had a good shot because we had so many returning starters back on defense, as well as offense. But without Emtman and his pass rush the middle was soft, as we saw here with USC gaining a lot of rushing yards up the middle and a pretty weak pass rush without blitzing. Walter Bailey got burned a few times in this game, certainly not like him. And Joe Kralick was the only reliable WR. But still 2 great TEs.

Thank you for all of these. It would be great if you could find the 1989 gator bowl Georgia versus Michigan State. It’s not on KZbin. It was a Vince Dooley’s last game as a coach

Thanks @steelbuck! 1991 UW was a great team. IMO this 1992 UW team was a bit overrated. Later this season I saw Arizona play the best they maybe played in their history, a 16-3 win over UW in Tucson. That UA defense was sick. And I think UW got beaten pretty handily in the Rose 🌹 Bowl this year.

The Billy Joe Hobert mess came to light the week before the Arizona game. Arizona played great, but Washington was emotionally flat for the game. The Rose bowl was a seesaw affair between Washington and Michigan. Michigan eventually came out on top in a shootout. I've always felt that 1992 Washington was a good team but not quite up to the level of the 1991 team. I really wonder how much the Billy Joe Hobert fiasco affected the team on an emotional level.

This team was definitely not nearly as good as the year before and a lot of the fanbase was in denial about it.

Don't think I'd seen this one before, but with Rob Johnson under center for SC I couldn't help guessing "immediate b-slap" on 1st play from scrimmage. What do you know...

USC would underachieve, ultimately losing to my beloved (and future alma mater) Fresno State in the Freedom Bowl, costing Larry Smith his job.

Washington’s national championship year. Always liked the Huskies after this season.

Actually that was the year before when they split with Miami. Alabama would actually win the national title in '92, upsetting Miami in the Sugar Bowl.
