Kyle was very close to winning the 92 Cup that year. Just some bad luck did him in the final races of the season with a flat tire and blown engine. Most people remember his later years where he was running at the rear almost every race. His earlier years were significantly better with wins and high points finishes in the final standings.

This was the second or third race I attended as kid! Mom was a Kyle fan so she was happy as can be with this race. This KZbin channel has a ton of my Nascar memories over the years.

I can just imagine the outcry on social media if a race this lopsided happened now. Kyle just owned this race.

All that remains is the 1992 Mello Yello 500, and the 1992 Pontiac Excitement 400 as the race not yet uploaded from the '92 season.

The 1992 AC Delco 500 was the biggest highlight of the 1992 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season as Kyle Petty won this race by leading 484 of 492 laps. This race was produced by SilverStar Communications, Inc. and aired via tape delay on October 26, 1992 on the GMA Rainbow Satellite Television Network at 2:30 P.M. after Goodyear NASCAR Today with Rico Hizon and Bobby Guanzon and before GMA Balita with Mike Lacanilao, Veronica Baluyut, Raffy Tulfo, and Alex Tinsay

My God, with the way I always heard people talk about Kyle Petty I honestly thought he only won 1 or 2 races in his whole career. But that's not the case a at all! Ok, sure he wasn't nearly as great as his dad but not many people were anyways. He wasn't that bad. He could race at every type of track. All the negative things I heard because of what? The later part of his career? His dad went his last 7 years without a win I believe. So did a lot of drivers. Crazy.
