In the process of restoring a 92 now... was listed as a 93 which I had back when I was a kid. Got her home and scraped the black power coat off and vin came back as a 92. They were known for having weak frames that tended to flex and stretch. So I'm in the process of gusseting the frame as outlined in DeCoster's tutorial; MXA Nov 94. Needless to say, it was clapped with everything painted black; black plastics and all with Rock Star stickers all over. Gonna be a long, but fun, project. They were also know for weak welds on the swing-arm, so I have 96 shock and swing arm I'll refurbish for her, as well as 07 forks, tree, and f wheel. Hoping modern dampening will reduce the high speed shake.

i no joke just watch this for the 2 stroke noise. ting ting of a 500cc is nasty music to my ears also. Love your channel please dont ever stop doing what you do. You share and show joy. fun and nothing serious. its calm and peaceful watching you. love all you guys. god these bikes are beautiful. i want a 500 now. i have a 2005 crf50 rebuilt myself. 2005 yz250 rebuilding entire motor first time ever. and i have a 2005 zx636 stunted out.

That was My Husbands Bike we sold to Kaplan last year. It LOOKS GREAT. I wish that we never sold our 2 bikes . We really miss both of our bikes . We sold the musuem a 1984 CR 250 and that 1992 CR 250. But we replaced them with 1 1986 CR250R and I got a 84 CR125. Good luck with that awesome bike.

I raced a 92 CR250 through 1995. That was the hardest pulling 250 I'd EVER thrown a leg over!!

This one brings back some memories. Me and my cousin were like brothers, same age. We both had 4 stroke 250s when we was 15. He went and bought one these exact bikes, 92 250, same graphics. And man it was just unbelievable to us how much power they had. Needless to say I had to buy me one. Back then kids worked on farms around here and bought there toys. He passed away unexpectedly 4 years ago at age 39. His son still has the bike though. Sure do miss him.

Love my 93 that I have had about 6 months. Slowly been getting used to riding it and getting familiar with it as well. Such much fun! Been replacing the plastic and various things with fresh plastics and factory decals to get it looking similar to this. Bike is so much fun the pipe!! BRRRRAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

The glide plates that were welded on is probably one of the single best mods u can do for these 92cr250s as the first year of this frame design had a few issues w cracking under heavy use but unless u hitting triples like Jeff Stanton u probably would never know so if bike is planned on being ridden hard, that mod will be the best investment made on this bike to ensure it's longevity for the next generation to experience and hopefully , fall in love with as well to continue the motorcycle dream!!!!!

Ryan Hughes just rode the 86 cr250, not the 88....the 92 was an absolute shredder and the best turning bike ever made, wicked head shake at times but that's the trade off.......my 94 had updated chassis and looked the same but the 94 frame was totally revised to be a bit more stable at speed w less head shake and def soured many pro oriented riders including Jeremy McGrath hated the new chassis and ended up riding a 93 cr250 w current graphics until the last gen of 1996 he rode that 93....Still since the 92-93 were best handling bikes....94 had revised porting and a longer silencer and def had a diff exhaust note than these.94 really quiet and smooth feeling and sounds kind of anemic.....although it's not......these 92 and 93 Absolutely BARKED AND Sounds much better than my 94......

Crazy how far ahead in the future Honda 250 was in 1992 compared to snowmobiles or cars of the same age. Except super cars like Ferrari maybe. But especially snowmobiles, they were super primitive still in 1992 and clearly not fit to be raced.

Next to the late 80s 500s, and the last gen RM2502ts the 1992 CR 250 is among the best looking bikes ever.
