Share a thought for the late great Victor Carstarphen died February 2015 seen and heard here on piano. He was kind enough to spend some time talking with me the day after a Temptations concert at the Royal Albert Hall. A multi talented man and a true gentleman. Rest in peace kind sir.

Brother was also a brilliant songwriter as well. He co-wrote songs like the O'Jays "Backstabbers", for one! R.I.P...

Victor Carstarphen co-wrote Wake Up Everybody by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes as well as Bad Luck by the same group. Victor also wrote co-wrote Easy by Teddy Pendergrass as well as Truly For You by the Temptations to name a few.

Teenagers these days have a bad reputation when it comes to music. Pretty much my first 7 years of my life I grew up listening to Motown. I'm 16 and I would give anything just to be alive back in the 60's when Smokey Robinson and the temptations and Motown in General was really popular. I love the temptations, they're by far my favorite Motown group ever!

I can remember going to the record store getting the latest, In those days you can sit in a booth to here the record. There was a dance that got started called the 'temptation walk'. My Girl when you here the beat and the guitar starts. Those were the days! My Girl bought the first record player for your car. Listening to the Temptation I start my cd and remember where I was. Temptation's will always be a great talent in their voices and style.

Please, you can't take nothing from Ron Tyson. The Temptations have an excellent tenor with him as well. Look, I was a great fan of Eddie and actually tried to sing like him back in the day. The thing is, that nothing remains the same and most people don't give credit where credit is due. The replacements are just as good in my opinion. They will never select just anybody that can hold a mic., but will select someone with great talent.

Richard Street looked like a disgruntled employee with Ali singing "My Girl". Even though he sung lead on this song for years, he's background on this live performance was nice. I've never been a fan of the 2nd lead singing Ruffin's part.
@porshaalexander35176 жыл бұрын
Richard Street was not just a disgruntled employee he was a hard-working employee who deserved to continue to sing lead on My Girl and other songs. But maybe you just don't know the history of what really happened within that group. His lead vocals were thrown away like trash by Otis and there was no reason for it to happen.

From what I read, when Richard was in the hospital, he felt that Otis was insensitive towards him.
@Tunes3428 жыл бұрын
"Richard Street reached his breaking point with the group when he landed in the hospital with 17 kidney stones. Unable to perform, Richard left a message with Manager Shelly Berger's office to inform the group of his condition. The message was not relayed to the group. Afterwards, leader Otis Williams called Richard angry that he did not show up for the performance. Even after Richard informed Williams of his condition, there was no apology or concern. The rest of the call was simply business, discussing their upcoming tour of Japan. At this point Richard felt it was best to move on. The family atmosphere within the group had deteriorated well past the point of being a workable situation." From Richard's website
