Did you leave the Blake take on the differential for the brake disk back plate or did you removed it and completed the installation?

I’m not sure what you mean but if your saying backing plate yes it was removed

I did this with my 3rd gen. I'm having an issue with a clunking sound on both wheels. It looks like the slop in the rotor wheel stud holes are moving even after torking over 100 ft lbs. Did you have issues with this?
@eddiesspeedgarage3 ай бұрын
I do have a clunking noise in the rear at low speeds never thought to associate it with the brake upgrade. I’m going to look into this

I wish you had more details 😁, would have been a great video

I don’t see anyone asking about the ebrake. How did you make the ebrake work? The ebrake cables are different and shorter for the 4th gen correct?
@eddiesspeedgarage2 жыл бұрын
I ordered the set from Hawks Motorsports, they seemed a little short still but I was able to get them hooked up and they work as advertised. I think they were 100 probably more now

I did this conversion on my 1987 camaro RS. I used a 2001 camaro ss rear brakes works perfectly.

did u had to drill any holes? or was it a bolt on
@davebarron59395 жыл бұрын
YES! Don't forget the to grab the old calipers regardless of condition for cores!
@bennyfactr61224 жыл бұрын
I would only add that with the axels out, now is the time to upgrade your wheel studs.

Very good video! Would you know the part number for the bracket that holds the ebrake cable. I've been looking online but haven't found them yet.

I want to convert my 86 camaro 9 bolt which has opposed disk brakes to 89 camaro disk brakes with calipers on the same side of axle . What do I need for that swap thanks
@eddiesspeedgarage4 жыл бұрын
I’m unfamiliar with your parts but I would start by cross referencing part numbers to see if they interchange.
@Scr3amzTv4 жыл бұрын
What’s size bolts did use to mount the bracket back to the axles
@eddiesspeedgarage4 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t tell you. All I can say is I sourced the bolts from the donor car.

What did you do for a proportioning valve?
@eddiesspeedgarage3 жыл бұрын
The factory proportioning valve were the same for disk disk or disk drum from 90 up. I also installed a spring it the p valve which helped a lot. Car stops fantastic now! Better than a 1LE for sure

Will this work on an 84 camaro?? Are the rear end brackets that get drilled and tapped the same?
@eddiesspeedgarage4 жыл бұрын
If it a drum rear I think they didn’t change much.
@hernan75384 жыл бұрын
hello guys, i want this conversion in a cutlass Ciera, wich car can fit in it???
@eddiesspeedgarage4 жыл бұрын
Hernan Compagny I would start doing some research online by cross comparing part numbers of the Camaro vs your cutlass. Chances are they are similar.

You must have just watched the intro. This is a very detailed video on how the do a drum disk conversion not on removing axles. So thanks for the comment and sorry you didn’t have the time to watch the whole video.
