I had the original 60's model when I was a kid. Loved it! Back then nobody cared if a kid burned himself on a hot plate. Those were the days.

I also had the first version in the 60's! Silly Sand, Varoom, GI Joe with hair & ALL of the cool stuff! If it wasn't toxic, dangerous, or metal, it was dumb. Lol The "no helmet crew!" 🤣

people cared if a kid burned themselves.... they just expected that teh kid would be smart enough not to, and they had parents that actually told them things.

I'm 35 now and had the 93' version so I was 9 years old when it came out. Brings back a lot of memories!! I use to invite friends over to spend the night and we would make crappy creepy crawlers all night! We actually made some pretty trippy colored ones and then we would hide them all over my sister's rooms and in there food! Lololol

I got one of these for my 8th birthday, surprisingly pretty new, especially in 2013. Me and my dad were having a tad bit of trouble trying to work it, but I had fun anyway. My brother also had one, an older one, possibly the 2001 set, and I look forward to revisiting this. Looking back at it, this is a really cool toy. Maybe I'll try it again for old times sake. You did a great job demonstrating. ;) 😉

I had similar toys in the 90's. But instead of making plastic bugs, you had several press molds for making neon colored edible gelatine bugs. I also had silicone bugs that you could fill up with greenish or redish slime, and when someone stepped on the bugs, the slime would squirt out of the bugs. Good times, good times 👌
@thegracklepeck Жыл бұрын
Lol the 90's was all about "gross" toys. I could absolutely see enjoying the bug squish factor. My parents' carpet? Not so much.

Wow! This is interesting. I'm Australian, so I don't believe we had this exact toy growing up. I remember those cooking ovens designed for girls... Before people got offended over gendered toys. Good times!
@girlscanbedrummers54495 жыл бұрын
Jeeze I hate all the gender neutral crap. Marketing toys for girls and boys just makes it easier for parents. It's so fucked how we have come to to get offended at a how toys objects no less, are labeled. I grew up in the 90s and having to witness gendered toys never affected me, or my siblings and I have played with my brothers toys too a lot yet I didn't see my parents waving it around like it was some kind of achievement.
