It’s interesting to note that, playing in different jumpers, Bella was sent off in Round 18 of 1988 for head-butting Flanagan. It’s strange to contemplate Sterling making a commentary: what his skill would have done to the wafer-fragile back end of the 1993 and 1994 Bulldogs is unimaginable watching that team there, but obvious from Stuart and Goldthorpe in the finals. Moreover, Sterling might still have been playing in 1993 if he had not came back too early from his should in 1991.
