I've been waiting for 30 years to be able to get one of these cars. Something else always comes up. Most days I just try to be thankful for what I have.

What a beautiful engine this car has. It was originally designed for a mid-engine sports car that Ford was developing in the 1980's, but they scrapped the project. The engine ended up in this anonymous family sedan which makes it the ultimate sleeper. I have a 20 years newer SHO and it needs its engine cover to hide the ugly bucket of snakes that Ford has put in most of their late model vehicles. This engine however, gets the chef's kiss. What a wonderful piece of engineering from the '80's to the '90's with a gob smack of naturally-aspirated horsepower per liter for this era. It's a great engine to look at and all of that beautiful intake plenum has a function. Great engine in a gorgeous cream puff time capsule of a car. Good review!

I just purchased a 1993 GL taurus near me, got it for 800 dollars with a blown headgasket 3.8L, it has 60,000 miles on it and is in pristine condition.

A blown head gasket for that 3.8L engine, you don't say?

That's unusual that a 3.8 would be in a GL trim! Sure it's not the LX trim? I had a 93 LX in a seafoam green metallic color I got as a first car from my Mom's Aunt Elaine. Car was hurting but I cleaned it up put some work in it and it wasn't bad but the 3.8 V6 always flooded when parked on a wrong angle, other than that it was fast and powerful for that time! That engine was also used in the Thunderbird LX

The torque specs you gave are for the 3.2 variant with the automatic, the 3.0 manual has 200 ft/lbs torque, not 215. And btw I thought you were Tyler Perry at first 😂😂😂😂!

And why the hell is it sitting so high in the rear? These are supposed to sit level. Guessing new rear struts that haven't been broken in yet?
