Enough with the negative comments! This a pretty darn good testimony for a Town Car! No wonder they love em in the big cities because they're tough and last! Kyle, if you can find one from the 70s that would really be awesome!

+1 neglect kills these far quicker than age/normal wear. The vinyl tops always go bad on these unless they're kept out of the rain and out of the sun. Pretty easy to remove the vinyl top and convert to good old painted steel roof if need be, just a bunch of screws on the doors and roof that holds the trim and top on. Once those are out, you just peel the top off and weld the holes shut. Or tape them shut if you're lazy like me and don't want to pay for body work yet, haha.

I'm amazed at the condition of those leather seats. I see cars with half that mileage in wrecking yards with ROACHED seats. Only ones that hold up long term are the cloth/velour seats but it wasn't a common option on the '90-'94 generation. Door panel is really nice too the Lincolns were all one piece so they often split and crack along the armrest. Sounds like it needs a new belt on the front.... those should be replaced every 80,000 or so if I remember the severe duty cycle maintenance scheduling chart. Turned over pretty quick despite being low on gas and with decently high mileage. Probably also needs power steering fluid flushed, brake fluid flushed, etc. Damn shame how someone let the neglect just pile up on this old tank.... happens all the time. My two projects ('89 Grand Marquis and '85 Grand Marquis) are the same way. At some point you gotta put your foot down and say "NO MORE! The buck stops here, I'm not going to let this neglect continue. I'm going to get ahead and stay ahead of the maintenance." I hope whoever your dealership sold the car to has taken care of her. She needs some body work too but nowhere near as most of the ones I come across. Those wheels are interesting. Can't tell if they're the 15 inch Lincoln lacy spoke or the coveted 16 inch HPPs! If they're the latter you are set for brake upgrades down the road, see below. Last of the real Town Cars right here in my eyes. The decontenting began in '95 with the door panels. All the stuff that makes the newer Town Cars drive better (big brakes, suspension improvements, etc.) can be done to the '90-'94 cars. '92-'94 are easiest to work with because they have the disc brake rear end like all the '92 panthers have. With 16 inch wheels, '98-'02 big brake kit front and rear will bolt up. Also sway bars, polyurethane bushings, etc. will bolt up. Heavy duty coil springs, KYB Gas-A-Just monotube shocks bolt on from '79-'02, and so on. I could go on and on but you get the point. I'm on the fence whether to get one of these or a '94-'96 bubble B platform station wagon.... already have two projects already but I can't get enough of late model old iron like this. :)

Mileage is no excuse for this car to look so terrible. I have a 99 TC with 225k miles (mostly driven by myself) and it looks almost new. Stupid non-caring owners are the cause for this.
