My Dad bought my mother one of those and when it rained there would be water on the front passenger seat and they never did figure out how it was entering the car at the dealership. She kept a towel handy. Great car otherwise. I used to chauffeur actors in them back in the day when we also used Country Squire wagons to transport people, before we moved into Suburbans and Passenger Vans.

Had my '89 until it saved my daughter's life in 2000. She was hit from behind at about 45mph by a fully loaded van pulling a large trailer, everything the man from New York owned. Shoved her into a pick-up. She walked away with a sore back. Did bend the frame but saved her. Used to get 25mpg on the freeway. Didn't care about around town, just loved the car. Still miss it

back in 2003, i traded in my old Wrangler at a dealership...he brought out a maroon 1990 Town Car with about 60k miles on it, had only ever had the alternator and battery changed, and it had brand new General tires. at first i was like WHAAAAT?? i'm 23, are you serious? he said "just give it a test drive." man, i slipped behind that wheel....sold. my wife called it the Cloud Car. you couldn't feel one bump or rough patch in the road. it only got about 18-19 mpg in the city, but it flew on the highway and did better mpg. $3800 out the door. best car i've ever owned. we took that thing on a road trip from Chicago, to Vegas, to San Diego and back...ran like a dream.

Got 99 Cartier and 07 designer. Agree 100%. Plastic intake sucks, other than that it's the best. I'd not take any new car of my choosing for free. Nope. Keep that junk. Rusts in weeks, all plastic mini motors and intake runners and vvt. Junk. These cars will go a half million at least with care. Quarter with no care at all. Best V8 engine. Still see cops, taxis all the time. No change in 12 yrs. Not broke don't fix. Still should make with updated body and another 100 HP and Tq. I can dream.

Little SUV gets the job done but I've always dreamed of having a town car to drive for fun like one of these beasts or a Crown Vic, something big with a V8 and lotta room. I'd even take it to tourist railroads or the Reading and Northern in PA so it can blend in with the old equipment. They don't make cars like they use to.

My family had a 93 Lincoln town car growing up I learned to drive in that car. It was a boat for sure but it was classic American luxury at its finest and preferred it to the later 2003 town car that replaced it. The new one while having more technology didn’t have the same luxurious Lincoln feel it reminded me more of a dressed up crown victoria than a classic Lincoln. Even today I still have a soft spot for that old Lincoln and as Scotty said the hood ornament makes it super easy to keep your road boat centered in your lane. Haha
