...I watched Sally run in the 100m hurdles in the 1986 Commonwealth Games......I would never put her down as a future Olympic Champion/World record holder....what a phenomenal athlete....

I watched this at college. Sally not taking the extra step between the last 2 hurdles gave her the momentum to get her over the line first - shame the video ends where it does as Sally looks up at the clock and realises that not only has she won but it's a new WR.

There was a period in Sally's career when she held every single possible honour at the same time. British, Commonwealth, European and World RECORDS and British, Commonwealth, European, World and Olympic TITLES. Daley Thompson was the only other athlete that did that.

Yeah, but Sally was an Olympic champion as well, Farmer-Patrick never was. Records go, but Olympic titles are the biggest deal of all.
