49ers/Cowboys loomed over the entire league like ultimate Clash of the Titans.

The cowboys and 49ers seemed larger than life in 1994. Almost mythical.

11 of the 12 games on 11/13/94 were decided by a touchdown or less. Throw in 5 Sunday games with teams having winning records going H2H (BUF/PIT on Monday Night) and the heavily hyped Cowboys/49ers clash plus close games scattered throughout, you had one of the best weeks in history

I'm a huge 49ers fan and my brother is a huge cowgirl fan. 2 years in a row before this the cow sissies broke my heart. So this was a big game for me, but the biggest was the NFC championship game. The 49ers won the super bowl. Before that I got to watch my Huskers win the original TO's first championship. 1994 was my favorite year as a sports fan. I was only 11 but remember it like it was yesterday.

The golden era of football. It was a perfect mix of offense and great defense. Now QBs can’t be hit and they’re throwing for 5 million yards a game.

I didn't have access to NFL Primetime back in 1993-'96 (I was in high school, living in an efficiency apartment on my parent's property, no cable in the back; it didn't bother me) so I missed most of these and am still catching up. like C.K. said, this was a good week for close games (or a close week for good games? Nah). Hey, this is where the 1994 Lions got hot, thanks to Dave Krieg (actually at this point in the '94 season, Scott Mitchell's injury was a blessing in disguise), who had a tendency to get hot for long stretches, like here. Lots of hots here, tremendous heat.

Eagles loss to the Browns was the first of seven in a row to close the season, as they finished 7-9.

That loss lingered for the Vikings for a long time. They still snuck out the division title but were never the same again with Dungy here.
@gluserty3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on the Vikings, as they went from a dark horse Super Bowl team to kind of backing in and being quickly dismissed from the playoffs by the Bears. But Eagles REALLY found the landslide (that Byron Evans injury didn't help), not winning another game in this season.

Even their two previous losses in 94, Dungy’s defense was NOT the reason they lost at Green Bay and Arizona Everything changed with that Foxboro game

When scores were reasonable because defense was legal. Oh, and the Washington Redskins still existed. I don't mean because of the name change, I mean because Dan Snyder killed the franchise in general.

Even in 1994 Berman has a crack about "the nattily clad Bill Belichick," even though he's not dressed particularly slovenly here.

The three best rivalries in the 90s was 49ers vs Cowboys throughout the 90s with Packers vs 49ers in the mid to late 90s was fun in the AFC it was Bills vs Dolphins throughout the 90s and Broncos vs Chiefs in the late 90s

8:57 Randall Cunningham's first home loss in 21 starts, the first of 7 in a row that dragged the Eagles from 7-2 (NFC East leader, 1st overall in NFC) to 7-9 and led to the firing of coach Rich Kotite. 7:47 Byron Evans never played another game in the NFL after that injury. 15:44 Giants' 7th straight loss, but they would win their final 6 games to finish 9-7, and had an outside shot at a playoff berth
