1994-2001 Acura Integra GSR fuel filter replacement

1998 Acura Integra GSR fuel filter remove and install. Make sure to release your fuel pressure before starting this or else you'll have fuel spraying out, which can get onto your clothings or in your eyes. Wear safety goggle and make sure to have rags over the fuel filter when removing it to prevent the fuel from leaking out everywehre.

I'd add two more steps to your demonstration: 1- Remove the fuse for the fuel pump 2- Start the engine until it dies This will relieve the fuel pressure in the lines. That's how I've done mine.

Better to loosen the bottom fuel line last after everything else is loose or removed as then you can prevent so much fuel leakage by getting the filter off and blocking it quicker to prevent a possible fire, the entire fuel filter is full and going to drain out otherwise.

Chris Witt the vehicle had a rear end damage, so we salvage the engine and just cut the vehicle into piece and dump it at a metal recycling dumpster. Now we're waiting for a good body to install the engine into. :)

How do you release the fuel pressure before taking the fuel filter off?

Brandon DeFord we remove the gas cap, but even then, there will still be pressure in the system. The best thing to do is to put a rag over the fuel filter and remove the fuel line slowly so that the fuel doesn't spray all over you.

Dc2 you want to use both wrench, one holding the fuel filter and one turning the nut that secure to the fuel filter, make sure not to bend any lines or else it'll be costly.
