2:15 you sure made removing the inner tie rod from the steering gear look easy. I've changed out 3 of these tie rods and it's been a pita.

how do you get that safety pin out?

I've been having trouble with bumpsteer in my 98 cobra. It's on Eibach sportline springs and have done everything else except new inner tie rods to fix the bumpsteer. I'm really hoping this kit fixes it.

Do you gotta have the safety pin/rivet thing mine didn't come with it and I cant find them and where

I just replied to your other comment. It's up to you. I can't answer that question since the pin does provide some sort of fail-safe. -Landan

Do you gotta have the little rivet thing
@latemodelrestoration10 ай бұрын
Technically, no. But why would you not install it? It takes 10 seconds. -Landan

Was their no saftey pin in place? My inner tie rod looks like it's got a pin it to prevent the inner tie rod from moving, was hoping to see the removal here. Gotta look elsewhere now.

The safety pin is shown at 2:16. The easily shear off whenever you loosen the inner tie rod from the steering rack. 2:48 shows the installation of the new safety pin. Hope this helps. -Landan

Late Model Restoration Is it possible to do this at home? Without having to lift car off ground?
@Taybug2 жыл бұрын
Angel Gutierrez 🇺🇦 you can do it at home but will definitely need to lift the car

@@latemodelrestoration well unluckily for me instead of shearing off it shredded the threads.
@latemodelrestoration28 күн бұрын
@@metalfoil924 Anything can happen, but I don't see how an aluminum pin damaged hardened steel threads. Something else is going on for their to be damage to those threads. You may not be the first one to have replaced inner tie rods on your car. -Landan
