This is only a unicorn if you've never been to Asia.

it's mainly built for road service in villages up in the mountains. snow service tight streets where a regular plow can't fit etc. They are not that rare. You can still see them in Nagano, especially at Ski resorts. Maybe they built 150 a year, not 150 total.
