Likely two separate codes, code 3 and then code 10.

If you keep looking in that area where the connection should be, you should be able to find it. There are sometimes two connections: one with 3 ports and one with 2 ports. I might be tangled up in there or just out of site. That's how mine is, it has both connections, but I just pushed the 3 port connection out of the way to have the 2 port connection always available.

It's quite simple with the paperclip trick! I've heard of there being adapters where you can connect OBD2 scanners in OBD1 vehicles, but I'm not too sure if Honda has them.

you might want to check the back up fuse in the engine compartment fuse box first. my '93 DX got its first check engine light at ~ 180,000 miles. the check engine light did not flash when i jumpered the connector as shown in the video but replacing the blown fuse resolved the problem (the check engine light did not come back on when driving). also, remove the glovebox to access the connector. mine was to the right of the glovebox. there was a green rubber cover over two blue connectors, one with two wires and another with three wires. in order to access the two-wire connector i had to cut the lanyard that held the rubber cover to a bundle of wires covered in black plastic wire conduit. then carefully pry the two wire connector out so you can access the pins from the front.

Galaxy S5 When you do the paper clip trick and the SRS light blinks, you need to count the number of blinks to know your check engine light number. The video explains how to count them. The check engine light will not come on because your speedometer doesn't work, at least I've never heard of it doing so.

If you have an AutoZone near your area, then you can just take your car and they'll usually check your engine codes with their scanner.

Try disconnecting your negative from your battery for about 10 minutes and then hook it up again. This will restart your ECU and hopefully erase your check engine light. If there is something that's wrong with your car, the check engine light will come back up again.

Hi we have a honda civic 1994 and there is a sensor that we have disconnected that causes our check engine light to turn on and stay on. When we connect it the car jerks a lot and we don't know the cause to it. It also burns a lot of gas when it isn't connected. Not a problem, O2 sensors for these Civics are recommended to be replaced every year for optimal performance, but oftentimes they are ignored.

When I checked mine it just flashed even no fast flashes just long flashes. Looked up the code an it could only be 1 of 3 codes an my cars a 5spd so 1 is for auto trans. So that leaves 2 possible codes. One says electrical load an the other is iat valve. 10 an 20 are what codes it could be. Any help would be great

That sometimes means that there is something wrong with the ECU, which is the car's computer. Try disconnecting the negative and wait a couple of minutes before hooking it back up. This should help reset the ECU and the problem may go away. If not, then there may be an ECU issue and the ECU will need to get checked out. It's also a good idea to check the main relay and make sure none of the soldering points on the relay are cracked.

+Rastathick0206 I'm not sure what it would mean exactly because I would need to know how many time the light flashed. When you see the light flashing, try the method in this video to figure out what is your check engine code. Another thing I would try is disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and waiting 10 minutes to reconnect it, so that the car's computer resets.

Error code 43 means "Fuel Supply System". You should probably check the fuel injectors and the levy rival wiring going to them. I couldn't find a code 42.

@urbansleepers officials yea everything checked out and looked good..new distributor put on 2/24/2016,new TPS put on 2/20/2016,new fuelpump put on 10/¿?/2015,tune up 3 months,fuel filter and starter a year ago....wen I 1st got the car it was acting like it didn't go like it was hesitation..in 1st as I'm goin it starts doing the hesitates for about 5-8 secs once it stops doin it the car just takes off and hauls ass on its own but sumtimes I have 2 help it or it get stuck hesitating so I hit the gas a lil and it hauls ass like I have nitro or sumthin...ok I've had the car a year now and it was doin the same thing wen i 1st got it...so I figured it could old gas from sitn up for about a year b4 i I purchased tried high,mid,and reg. gas, gas and fuel injeictor treatments...and when I drive it lets was 20-30min the check engine light comes on and I notice my car starts lagging in performance: like longer shifts a ,..I'm 34 and ive always loved civics and accords 4 sum stranger reason...this is my 1st honda experience and I love it and i hope 2 keep it that way.

Witdodo Djoyosaputro If you're checking for a code and the light just stays on, then that may mean your ECU is bad, or "dead." Try checking the 7.5a ECU fuse in the under-the-hood fuse box to see if it blown and not providing power to the ECU.

Technically, yes. But there is a chance the CEL might pop up again once you start driving it. Try clearing it and drive the car around to see what may trigger it to pop back up, or how long it takes for the CEL to come back up if it’s going to.

I’m not too sure why your D4 is also blinking. I would just pay attention to how the Check Engine spot blinks and for how many times. Then you can look up that CEL error code. Do it again and if the CEL light still blinks fast 9 times, then you have error code “9.” Code “9” is #1 Cylinder Position Sensor. Your sensor may be acting up.

For Civics between the years 1992-1995, they are all OBD I. Civics between the years of 1996-2000, they are OBD II. I searched if there was an error code 82 for Civics 1992-1995, but couldn't find any error code 82 anywhere for them. What year is your Civic?

UrbanSleepers Official I found it. It was on a green plastic thing. The 3 connector and 2 pin connector were on the green plastic holder. I think because my civic wasnt really used, it was never even touched. But most people would think its loose already because someone had already taken it of the green plastic before. Also, someone thought it was a gray color. Weird, I actually found a 2 pin gray connector under the driver seat. I wonder what its for lol. Thanks for the help though.

Roger Ceh It may mean that the ECU is bad. You may want to also check the 7.5a fuse in the under-the-hood fuse box to find out if there is power going to the ECU.

Pantuflo Do you have your airbags all hooked up, or have they been deployed? The SRS light means there's something wrong with your airbags.

UrbanSleepers Official well it goes off when the car is running. But what's wrong with my car is it doesn't turn on when it's cold... I turn the ignition switch on and leave it until the fuel pump turns on . (It can take about 15-40 min before it does) once it does the check engine light goes off and then the car can turn on. I've had almost everything checked out even replaced the fuel pump and still nothing. I would either have to crank it 30 times before it can turn on. Or on hot days just leave the ignition switched on until the fuel pump turns on and off until I can turn the car on.... I've had 4 mechanics look at it but NONE have solved my issue

Pantuflo There is a part underneath the dashboard called the Main Relay. If you do a search on KZbin you'll be able to find videos about it explaining how they can be fixed. You might have a Main Relay with bad solder points that needs resoldering or to be replaced altogether. I had a Civic that would take a long time like yours to turn on because of the Main Relay.
