Believe me I've wanted to but I've been crazy busy. I joined the fitters union and started a side fabrication business. Still have the idi but it ain't my daily anymore.

@@groundtogreen1140I hope you can share a lot more of your knowledge about the IDI platform before you move on. Great work & you have wonderful knowledge that a lot of us need to know to keep our own IDI’s on the road. Your CDR video is why I switched back from the Road Draft Tube idea and back to CDR valve. 👍 👍 Maybe make a blog post about what you know lol

You should do a video on how to test tach meter sensor before having buying one. I can’t get my working
@cubey5 жыл бұрын
The 80s Ford vans really lacked features. No trip odo or tach. I wouldn't mind adding tach to my 85 E350. Being IDI with a plug in the tach sensor port, I'd just need a compatible gauge for the sensor. Can't do anything about no trip odo though.
@Wmoore15 жыл бұрын
So if theres a plug in the port, all you need is a proper gauge? How would i find a compatible one? I'm a struggling e350 guy myself.. Lol

A little off topic, but where do you recommend the gauge sensors to be placed on these IDI's? I am looking to get a Pyro, boost and trans temp gauge unit installed for an e40d.
@groundtogreen11405 жыл бұрын
Pyro can going down pipe but for more accurate reading use the passenger side exhaust manifold towards the back. Boost goes into the intake manifold or the intake hat most intake hats are pre tapped for it and trans temp normally there's an inline kit you can buy I have one from autometer on my truck

Hey mike. I know this has nothing to do with the video but I'm trying to find the best cheap fuel line to replace my 7.3 idi non turbo fuel line. Both the sending and return lines. Any tips?

I use push lok line if its not getting submerged in fuel

Hey off topic but I've watched a few of your videos and I'm having a problem with my 6.9 I thought maybe you could havesome info on do you have an email. It's fuel tank selector related. No power to it.

You seem like the guy to ask about these idi motors. I got a 85 6.9 started running worse and worse losing power on the way back from town the other day by the time of got home would hardly get to 1k rpm with foot to the floor have checked over the whole fuel system replaced fuel filters and the mechanical lift pump now it will fire but instantly dies Any ideas?

@@groundtogreen1140 did have the truck get rocked pretty hard a couple days before snapping winch lines. If that could have something to do with it. Had rust in the primary filter that I changed. After lift pump replacement had good fuel to the injectors while bleeding the lines
