Well I found the issue. It is far from what I expected it to actually be, but the diagnostic steps lead me to it. A repair follow-up video will be next.

Have a 1995 Saab Aero with 440k on it. A daily driver. Engine & tranny out of 1998 9000 replaced at 306k. Mains went out. I appreciate the thoroughness of your videos. Will save me thousands. 👍 Keep at it!!

Had to be the pump, you would have gotten fuel in the face when opening that rail under pressure. the car looks fantastic.

I know, it sucks. Well, the new sender basket got a Walbro upgrade now so I should not have to pull it back out again. Video up next, including repairing a broken return valve. I am ready to get back on body work. The front left fender is keeping it from inspection time.

T5.5 Boards are ALL the same, no change at all apart from the change to 20Mhz in 1996 and OBDII code added. Paul @ The SAAB Clinic UK.

Yeah I kinda figured that but with the pin differences in the wiring diags I was talking out possibilities for the issue. I am confused by the docs though. Will post on saabcentral.com.

I have a problem with the same car, it is that it does not move forward, it only works in reverse, I already changed the transmission fluid and the governor seals. but it still won't move forward, do you have any idea what the problem might be? it's a SAAB 9000 CSE from 1994 with automatic gearbox (ZF4HP18)

Sounds like the valve body needs cleaning. Search on saabcentral.com for drive reverse transmission. There are lots of threads but the "All of a sudden no forward gears on reverse" has a lot of detail.
