I was at this game and my man Steve Young was at his best despite getting his ass kicked by Montana’s Chiefs the previous week. I remember him limping to the tunnel on my end of the field after the game and acknowledging the cheering crowd as he exited the field. Young would get the monkey off his back win the Super Bowl and be MVP that season.

Classic unis: 49ers in the 1955 uniform minus the red helmet with the platinum gold stripe. Rams in their gold jerseys that they last wore in 1957 as away jerseys, but as home and away the rest of the 50s, the blue at home.

TRIVIA: Deion Sanders' first game with the Niners (he'd be used mainly as a nickel corner this game, due to the new defense he was still learning)...also coincidentally the 49ers' first game in their 1955 "throwback" uniforms which would be synonymous with their lone season with Deion Sanders (he only wore their regular uniform with gold pants in the October 2, 1994 blowout loss vs the Eagles)

They’re good announcers compared to what’s out there today. But there aren’t great announcers anymore. Back in the 80’s and 90’s we had Summerall/Madden, Enberg, Michaels/Gifford/Dierdorf, Lunquist, and a bunch of others.
