funny enough, john lasseter confirmed around that time they didn't know what the story was going to be as he officially stated in the bonus feature "Inspiration For Cars" in the Cars dvd copy bonus features.

fun fact: in this version of cars, (more specifically the one about the yellow car not the no. 57 race car) there were humans in that early version until later on when they developed the version with the no. 57 race car, they removed the humans completely.

the images that features a race car with the number 57 was not from 1997 or from the yellow car version of the story, but was from after john lasseter realised one of his characters has to be a race car after he figured out was the story should be after he went on a trip with his wife and his kids to route 66 (from one of the early script of cars titled "American Car").

This concept arts (Yellow car version) aren't from 1997, they are from 2000 or 2001, because Jhon Lasseter went to a roadtrip, that was the inspiration of the movie, in 2000 after he did Toy Story 2. And the no. 57 versions are from 2002 to earlier 2005 because in the deleted escenes they say it before start the scene and the 2005 teaser features no. 57 McQueen.

Yellow Car was made in 1995. But Yellow Car (1995) and American Car (1999) are canceled by Pixar and replaced by Toy Story 1 and 2. Maybe Toy Story 1 when Woody is a villain in 1993.

1:58 That tow truck that towed him is not Mater!It's much bigger than Mater and how McQueen even got crashed?His crash is bad as Doc Hudson got badly hurt in 1954 and to 1970's was not completely repaired and didn't talk to Smokey for 50 years.In cars 3 was supossed to see that Doc Hudson died by cliff drop but that's too scary and McQueen would maybe die just from watching this
