Man what a shame that the entire back half of the race and into the finish, the story and narrative was how Dale Earnhardt lost the race. Not how incredible and unfeasible Sterling Marlin winning his second Daytona 500 in a row! Marlin deserved so much more praise and the broadcast didn't do a fantastic job with that. Especially dominating Dale at his best in the closing laps.
@jasonwiggins61373 жыл бұрын
It was so annoying how bias they were for Earnhardt. You should hear the uncut feed during commercial breaks on these races, the control room was constantly checking on Sr. Unfortunately, because of merchandise sales, NASCAR made money when Earnhardt did well. It's a shame that NASCAR history is twisted because of it. Earnhardt flipping his car and getting back in it is talking about continuously, but they never mention that just a few years before, Davey flipped his car, put it in gear and drove back to the pits. The "pass in the grass" wasn't a pass. Gordon constantly embarrassed Earnhardt at Daytona and Talladega, but Sr. could "see the air". Bobby Allison completely schooled Earnhardt at Talladega while winning a race in which Sr. couldn't get around him lap after lap. The "Intimidator" was intimidated himself throughout his entire career and not a single driver was scared of him on the race track. Only one Daytona 500, 8th in all time wins, and 17th in winning percentage and announcers claim he was the best ever even though not a single Sports or Racing Publication named him Driver of the Century in 1999. It's pathetic how they spooned after him. A horrible human being on and off the track.

@crr311sux52 жыл бұрын
@@jasonwiggins6137 I agree that the pass in the grass wasnt really a pass but Dale literally schooled everyone on superspeedways and was winning at just about every track.. Also if you're gonna say that Dale Earnhardt was a "Bad" Driver then how about you hop in a 1990s NASCAR Winston Cup car for 30-35 Races against 42 Of the best stock car drivers in the world and see how you do.
@jasonwiggins61372 жыл бұрын
@@crr311sux5 Try again. Gordon had far more wins than Earnhardt at Daytona and Talladega when both were in the race. Earnhardt has the most all time wins at Talladega which is his only significant record he owns by himself. Richard Petty is the King at Daytona. Richard Petty 7 Daytona 500's compared to Earnhardt's one, under caution. Once again, we have another fan who believes the narrative. The facts prove otherwise.

The 1995 Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway marked the start of the 15th Year of NASCAR Racing on Philippine Television, as Sterling Marling, who scored his first NASCAR Cup Series win a year ago, won his second career victory for Morgan-McClure Motorsports with the #4 Kodak Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which denied a chance for a Daytona 500 win for the late Dale Earnhardt of Richard Childress Racing with sponsorship from GM Goodwrench. The first NASCAR on GMA race of 1995 was jointly produced by Television and Production Exponents, Inc. and SilverStar Communications Inc. and aired live, nationwide, and via-satellite on GMA Network on February 20, 1995 with a radio simulcast on DZBB 594 Radyo Bisig Bayan and Campus Radio 97.1 WLS FM

I don't know why they say Gen-4 started in 1992. The cars still looked like the Gen-3 cars after 1991. In my mind, Gen-4 didn't start until 1997.
