Yo! You had the best advice for me. If you don't have a press and it won't come out with the hand tool, Take it to a machine shop and have them press them out! I didn't realize the psi these need to come out and would have fought this for days! THANK YOU!!!

I had an estimate of $600 dollars from Total Car Care in Portsmouth,Va for Ball Joint Replacement on my 1996 E-150. "Yikes". This video is really,really good and after watching it ,i will get other estimates as it would be beyond what i would do.Thanks a lot. I subscribed to your Channel.

Irv Baugham Irv Baugham if anything this video proves WHY they charge $600. This was a two day job for me doing this at home on my e-150. The fact that he ended up having to use a hydraulic press...ouch. Mine were real tough, but ended up using a vice and a breaker bar. Great video man! Helped a lot!

Good stuff man, in the middle of doing that on a '98 E-150. Now I'm inspired to finish it!

Just out of curiosity, what tools are you using to change them. We tried to use the harbor freight tool, but that was a lot of problems. Thanks for the comment.
@beachinit4ever8 жыл бұрын
I don't have a press or the harbor freight tool, done it before (on a '72 IHC Scout II) with a big c-clamp, cheater bar, a large deep socket, lots of elbow grease and a hammer. If I can't get them out with what I have, taking the spindle to a friend's shop to get them out and press the new ones in. I'm putting in the new MOOG Problem Solvers that are supposed to go in easy. Here's a link to the lower - www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=203538&cc=1304109&jsn=38&jsn=38 I'll find out tomorrow!

I would love to see a video on that! Is there any way you can record that?
@jeffjahns19743 жыл бұрын
Damn good video. I do have 1 critique though. Or Just a suggestion. When pressing the top one back in - support it under its own position instead of the bottom. I know it will be much harder to do but in the event that you have to press hard- you will break that casting tab right off.

@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos I'm just watching your video. I did all 4 ball joints and had an alignment about 14 months and 25,000 miles ago. There is some play on the driver's side, and what I think is bearing noise, it is less when braking and also on a right hand turn. Please take a look at my last video a repair one.
